Psychological adventure game reimagining Sublustrum announced for consoles, PC

Brickworks Games and Phantomery Interactive are bringing back the psychological adventure game Outcry as a reimagined version called Sublustrum. Originally released in 2008 (and known as Sublustrum in Russia and Poland), the updated game will be available on PC via Steam and unspecified consoles in Fall 2026. It will support English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese languages.

Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:

About

Experience a completely rebuilt version of the beloved psychological adventure game, originally released in 2008 as Sublustrum (or Outcry outside of Russia and Poland). This new edition features expanded content, improved visuals, and a fully explorable 3D world. Explore a broken dream world where memories, sounds, and dreams blend together.

Into the Labyrinths of Consciousness

Follow a writer as he investigates the puzzling vanishing of his scientist brother.

Trying to understand a peculiar device his brother owned, he finds himself caught between reality and dreams, turning his search for answers into a bizarre exploration of his own mind.

The Architecture of Dreams

Explore a stunningly realistic 3D world inspired by the Victorian era, with a mix of old factories, a touch of futuristic design from the early 1900s, and a slightly sad atmosphere. In this world, technology and spirituality intertwine, and machines seem to hold a piece of the human spirit.

Sublustrum’s design aims to recreate the look of old films and vintage cameras, capturing a delicate, dreamlike quality reminiscent of classic, artistic movies.

Sound as a Conduit

In Sublustrum, sound isn’t just background music; it’s a core part of how the game works. Puzzles are built around audio, and musical themes help lead you through the environment.

The dark ambient score is a core part of the story – and of the project’s origin.

Feelings and Logic

As a fan, I’m really excited about the puzzles in this! They’re not just the same old thing – they’re totally fresh and really make you think outside the box. It’s not about memorizing things, it’s about making connections and looking at problems in a new way, and that feels super rewarding.

Explore a mysterious world by solving puzzles that link your memories to ancient symbols. Manipulate sound, gravity, and time itself to uncover the secrets of this ever-changing place.
