Jurassic World Spinoff Creator Addresses Potential Sequel As Chaos Theory Ends [Exclusive]

2025 was a hugely successful year for the Jurassic World series. Universal Pictures started the movie season strong with Jurassic World Rebirth, featuring Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey of Wicked. This sequel to Jurassic World Dominion introduced a new team dedicated to safeguarding dinosaurs from those who would exploit them. The film was a major hit, earning over $800 million globally and revitalizing the franchise. Dinosaur fans also had plenty to enjoy on television, with several animated series keeping the action going.

The animated series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory has finished its run, with the fourth and final season now available on Netflix. Creator Scott Kreamer recently spoke with ComicBook about the show’s ending and explained why it doesn’t tie into the Rebirth storyline.

We had finished writing the show before Rebirth truly began, he explained. I saw a script early on, but I was already in post-production at that point. So, Dominion really feels like the end of our story. We were always aware the series wouldn’t go beyond Dominion, as they didn’t yet know Rebirth was going to happen.

Now that Rebirth is so successful, Kreamer isn’t avoiding the franchise. In fact, he’s happy with the idea of his characters making a comeback, even if he’s no longer in charge of the creative direction.

There are definitely possibilities for continuing the story. With a five-year time jump, there are new stories to tell. I’m happy with how the current story concluded, but if we had a compelling idea, we could explore further storylines with our established characters from Camp Fam, or even connect to elements from Rebirth with a new group. This project has been a significant part of my life for seven years – challenging, but incredibly rewarding. I initially thought Camp Cretaceous was the end, and I told everyone that, but then I came up with the idea for Chaos Theory just two weeks later. So, while I never want to say never, I think this is probably the final chapter.

Chaos Theory‘s Creator Kept His Ear to the Ground

Even though his series had to stay true to the established movie universe, Kreamer loved seeing all the fan theories and discussions it inspired.

I remember reading a theory that Brooklynn was a clone, and it’s interesting how often the handler was connected to raptors in the show’s earlier seasons. There were also episodes where the kids were trapped in a simulation. Honestly, I’m just glad people are so engaged with the show that they’re coming up with these ideas – I don’t mind what theories people have if they’re enjoying it that much.

The fans were incredibly engaged, and Kreamer was impressed by some of their ideas – some were so good he wished he’d thought of them himself, and even anticipated his plans before he was ready to reveal them.

I can’t quite recall the exact moment, but I remember being in an interview where someone shared a really interesting idea. I thought, ‘Wow, that would have been amazing!’ I wish I could remember what it was. But there are times when something unexpected happens, and you think, ‘They’ll never guess this!’… and then, sure enough, someone did predict it. It’s funny how that works.
