Jason Kelce Details His “Stupid” 48-Hour Fast Ahead of Thanksgiving

Jason Kelce wants to kick off the holiday season right.   

Former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce announced he’s doing a 48-hour fast with former NFL player Marcus Spears before Thanksgiving, and he’s not exactly looking forward to it.

On the November 26th episode of their podcast, New Heights, Jason Kelce told his brother Travis that he and Marcus Spears had decided to fast. He jokingly blamed retirement for the impulsive decision, saying, ‘You do silly things like this when you retire.’ He clarified that the fast would end the next morning, and he planned to fully enjoy his Thanksgiving meal.

After gaining some weight, partly from a recent trip to Disney World with his family, the 38-year-old father of four—Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finnley, 5 months—decided to start dieting. He shares these four children with his wife, Kylie Kelce.

He explained he’s been feeling down about his eating habits lately. While at Disney World, he indulged in a lot of treats like egg rolls and Dole Whip, and then continued to overeat on a trip to Wisconsin, where he had prime rib, wings, and a milkshake. As a result, he’s gained weight and feels bad about it.

The ESPN analyst shared that he’s finding the end of his fast particularly difficult, explaining, “We’re doing a fast, and I’m around thirty-six hours in. Even just smelling food is a challenge right now.”

He questioned whether fasting is truly healthy, saying that going without food for too long is obviously detrimental. However, he’s also heard that fasting can be beneficial if done correctly, though he admits he isn’t sure if that’s true.

Luckily, his fast is ending just in time, and Jason is already dreaming of Thanksgiving dinner. He joked that he might even eat an entire turkey all by himself when the time comes.

However, his satisfaction might not be solely due to being hungry. It seems his wife, Kylie, whom he married in 2018, is a very good cook.

He mentioned that Kylie, 33, was in charge of the cranberry sauce. He explained that Kylie and her mother do all the Thanksgiving cooking, and he feels like he just gets in the way.

Despite having fasted for two days beforehand, Jason plans to enjoy plenty of food this Thanksgiving – it’s a tradition he shares with his father, Ed Kelce.

Rather than simply supervising the children, I spend an hour each year frying a turkey with my neighbor, Ed. It’s a fun tradition, even though we end up with more turkey than we actually need!

Okay, so you will NOT believe this! I’m completely obsessed with Hoda and Jenna, and I just read the most hilarious thing. Apparently, while they were getting ready for their show, Today with Hoda and Jenna, Hoda found out Jenna always goes commando! Like, always! I’m dying! Not all of these confessions are amusing.

Finch, who was temporarily removed from his role on the ABC medical show before ultimately quitting, admitted, “I made a mistake. It was completely unacceptable and wrong – I messed up in every way possible.”

Beauty is pain, but Kim Kardashian might be able to stomach it.

The reality star told The New York Times she’d consider almost any procedure to look younger.

She admitted in June that she’d even consider something extreme – like eating something disgusting daily – if it meant she’d look younger. She emphasized she was serious, saying, ‘I just might.’

Kim Kardashian told Allure in July 2022 that she was mostly kidding when she made the comment, but admitted it wasn’t a completely awful idea.

Kim thought for a moment and then said, ‘Honestly, I’d probably eat something awful if someone promised it would make me look younger – even if it meant eating a bowl of poop every day.’

She wasn’t sure how much she could eat. “Maybe just a bite,” she said. “I definitely couldn’t manage a whole bowl.”

Jelly Roll could’ve used some saving from himself.

During an April 2025 interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the singer of “Save Me” shared a particularly embarrassing story, and he didn’t hesitate to tell all the details.

“I pooped myself one time,” he admitted. “I did, I’m sorry.”

To be honest, Jelly Roll (whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord) didn’t intend to cause such serious harm.

He firmly believed it was just a misunderstanding. “I sincerely apologize,” he said. “I saw the audience turn from supportive to completely against me.”
