World of Warcraft: Midnight Gets March 2, 2026 Release Date in New Trailer, Beta Sign-Ups Now Open

Blizzard revealed the release date for the next World of Warcraft expansion, Midnight, as March 2, 2026. They shared a new trailer showcasing key characters like Lor’themar, leader of the Blood Elves, and Xal’atath, the expansion’s main villain. You can watch the trailer below.

Midnight is the second book in a planned three-part series called the Worldsoul Saga. The first book was The War Within, and the third, The Last Titan, is expected to be released in a few years. Along with announcing the release date for World of Warcraft: Midnight, Blizzard has also begun accepting applications for the expansion’s beta test.

You can now pre-order World of Warcraft: Midnight in three versions: Standard, Heroic, and Epic. The Standard edition includes both World of Warcraft: The War Within and Midnight, plus a character boost to level 80, early access to the new housing feature, and 500 Trader’s Tenders. The Heroic Edition has everything from the Standard edition, plus an additional 500 Trader’s Tenders (for a total of 1,000), the Lightwing Dragwonhawk mount, and the Lightstrider Raiment transmog set.

The Epic Edition of World of Warcraft: Midnight includes all the content from the standard edition, plus extra in-game benefits. These include 2,000 Trader’s Tenders (1,000 more than the standard edition), two unique pets (Hopeflutter and Doomfeathres), a special character outfit (Voidstrider Raiment), two exclusive flying mounts (Voidwing Dragonhawk and Voidlight Surger), decorative items for your in-game home, access to the expansion’s beta test, 3 days of early access before the official launch, and 30 days of free game time.

The upcoming World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion will introduce several new areas to explore, including updated versions of Eversong Woods, Zul’Aman, Harandar, and the Voidstorm. Players will embark on a significant questline alongside Arator, the son of Turalyon and Alleria Windrunner, a prominent figure in Warcraft history. This quest will take players across the game world as they help Arator locate ancient Light relics for use by priests at the Sunwell.

Demon Hunters are getting a big update with a new specialisation called Devourer. This new option lets them harness Void energy and use ranged attacks copied from their opponents. Plus, Void Elf characters will now be able to become Demon Hunters!

When Midnight launches, players will be able to explore a variety of Delves, playable alone or with friends, and experience eight new dungeons designed for groups of five. Throughout the first season of Midnight, three additional raid dungeons will become available.

So, I’m really excited for the new World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion! It’s coming to PC, which is great because I prefer playing on my computer anyway. If you want to get a feel for what to expect, I’d recommend checking out a review of the last expansion, The War Within – it’ll give you a good idea of what Blizzard is doing with the game right now.
