Although an official poster hasn’t been released yet for Avengers: Doomsday, fans have created artwork imagining a showdown between Marvel’s most powerful heroes and Doctor Doom, likely previewing the movie’s promotional look. At San Diego Comic-Con in 2025, Robert Downey Jr. was confirmed to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he’ll be playing the villain Victor Von Doom. The upcoming films Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, directed by the Russo brothers, will follow Doctor Doom’s adventures throughout the multiverse, pitting him against a variety of strong MCU characters.
In March, Marvel revealed the initial cast of 26 actors who will appear with Robert Downey Jr. in Avengers: Doomsday. While fans expected more announcements, an artist named @pixel.pulse_8 on Instagram created a stunning fan-made poster imagining some of these actors facing off against Doctor Doom. The poster features a battle between Doom and several heroes including the Fantastic Four, Thor, Captain America, Yelena Belova, Spider-Man, Deadpool, and X-Men members Professor X, Wolverine, and Magneto. Although not all these heroes are officially confirmed for the movie, the poster gives a glimpse of how exciting Marvel’s Phase 6 film could be.
Who Will Be Fighting Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday & Secret Wars?

Marvel’s latest film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, hinted that Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., comes from the same Earth (Earth 828) as the Fantastic Four. If upcoming movies like Doomsday and Secret Wars take inspiration from the 2015 Marvel comic events of the same names, Doom will travel through different universes trying to save his own. His plan involves stopping threats by destroying other universes and their versions of heroes first. This will likely lead to conflicts with many of Marvel’s most powerful heroes, who will be trying to protect their own realities.
Okay, so it looks like Doctor Doom has a history with this version of the Fantastic Four – the one played by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Apparently, they’re his first opponents. But things are about to get really complicated. Marvel’s saying Doom won’t just be sticking around our universe (Earth 616); he’s jumping between realities, including one (Earth 10005) where the X-Men from those old 20th Century Fox movies live. We’re talking Professor X, Magneto, Mystique – the whole crew! And fans are already hoping to see even more mutants show up, like Storm, Jean Grey, Wolverine, and Rogue. It sounds like Marvel’s planning a major crossover event, and I’m already intrigued.
In the Earth 616 universe, Doctor Doom will face off against a large team of Marvel’s most popular heroes. The New Avengers – including Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, Winter Soldier, Ghost, US Agent, and Sentry – will fight him, alongside members of Sam Wilson’s Avengers team. Thor, Ant-Man, Shang-Chi, and the Falcon may join Captain America in the battle. Shuri as Black Panther, M’Baku, and Namor are also confirmed to participate. Loki, now a protector of the entire multiverse, will also return in Avengers: Doomsday and, with his immense new power, could be Doom’s greatest challenge. However, this may not be the complete list of heroes involved.
