The story of Solo Leveling, which began as a web novel by Chugong and was then adapted into a popular manhwa, quickly became a worldwide hit, introducing many international fans to this type of media. Because it already had a large and dedicated fanbase, the anime adaptation was almost certain to succeed. The anime, produced by A-1 Pictures, was exceptionally well-made, earning numerous awards and boosting the series’ popularity even further. With thrilling action, beautiful animation, a memorable soundtrack, and incredibly powerful characters, Solo Leveling has everything anime fans love, so it’s no surprise it was an instant success. The second season, which adapted the long-awaited Jeju Island Arc, premiered this year, but despite concluding in March 2025, the studio has not yet announced plans for a third season.
Given how incredibly popular the anime is – it swept the Crunchyroll Awards this year – another season is almost certain. However, fans will likely have to wait longer than a year, as that’s how long they waited for Season 2. While everyone anticipates an official announcement for Season 3, Solo Leveling has become the first anime to reach 900,000 reviews on Crunchyroll. This news was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @SoloLevelAnime, a trusted source for franchise updates. Even months after the end of Season 2, Solo Leveling continues to break streaming records and gain popularity.
What’s Next For Solo Leveling’s Anime?

Now that the novel and manhwa have finished, fans are eagerly awaiting the anime. While a follow-up story, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, was released, it’s more of a side story than a direct sequel, penned by Daul. Before Season 3 was officially announced, rumors started spreading about a potential movie. These rumors began with a report shared on X in early November 2025, and quickly gained traction as many websites shared the information, exciting fans about a possible movie announcement. The studio hasn’t confirmed anything yet, but excitement continues to build, especially as fans wonder if the movie will follow the original story or be a brand new adventure.
The most recent season of the story covered the events on Jeju Island, where Sung Jinwoo finally succeeded in finding a cure for his mother’s mysterious illness, the Eternal Slumber, which affected ordinary people after the appearance of magical Gates. His accomplishments on the island made him famous, and many consider him Korea’s strongest Hunter. However, the story continues, with mysteries remaining about the origin of the Gates and the source of the powers that created Hunters. Jinwoo is central to discovering this hidden history and preventing a global catastrophe.
