As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to be part of the ongoing saga of Terrifier’s Art the Clown, who has ascended from the independent horror scene to become an undisputed icon of fear. This year, that journey reaches new heights as Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights unveils a brand-new house dedicated to the series.
Stepping into this house will plunge guests into the unsettling universe of the film franchise, offering an experience as chilling as any real-life encounter with Art the Clown could be. In addition, the 2021 edition of Halloween Horror Nights also features a house celebrating Friday the 13th and Jason Voorhees, solidifying Art the Clown’s place in horror lore even further.
The festivities are set to commence on Friday, August 29th at Universal Orlando Resort and Thursday, September 4th at Universal Studios Hollywood, running select nights until Halloween.
According to a press release, “Damien Leone, writer and director, along with producer Phil Falcone and Dark Age Cinema Productions, have introduced a fresh slasher film series into the cinematic landscape. This series revolves around Art the Clown, an ominous entity that haunts the fictional town of Miles County, New York on Halloween. The victims in this series are subjected to horrifying and gruesome tortures in ways that are both creatively grotesque and eerily sinister. The ‘Terrifier’ film franchise has grown to encompass three terrifying and gory movies, with a fourth film currently in development and plans for a Halloween Horror Nights haunted house.
As a horror enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement for Halloween Horror Nights! This year, I’ll be immersed in an unimaginable level of gore as I attempt to evade becoming the next victim of Art the Clown. The haunted house experience of Terrifier promises a chilling new terror, transporting me into the grotesque Funhouse of Art the Clown, a terrifying setting that debuted in Terrifier 2.
Prepare yourself for an overwhelming sensory overload as you navigate through the narrow corridors. The sights, sounds, smells, and dread will all conspire to make your heart race. Art’s gruesome kills, gleefully showcased for all to see, will leave you breathless. As I progress through the haunted house, I’ll encounter familiar faces like Vicky and the Little Pale Girl, and bear witness to iconic kills from the franchise.
The Clown Café is a chaotic scene of terror, while a revolting bathroom harbors festering dread. Even holiday cheer turns deadly in a Christmas nightmare. The challenge lies in escaping Art’s twisted world—or risk becoming his next gruesome display. So buckle up, fellow horror fans, and let the terrifying journey begin!
Art Clown first appeared in the full-length movie “All Hallow’s Eve”, gathering his earlier appearances in the shorts “The 9th Circle” and “Terrifier”. In 2016, he got a standalone film dedicated to his mayhem in “Terrifier”. Since the series originated independently, there were no limitations on the violence Art could inflict, as he didn’t need to tone it down for mainstream audiences. The unrated brutality resonated with viewers, and each subsequent movie in the franchise has attracted more audience members to his destruction, leading to increasing success at the box office.
Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood will launch their Halloween Horror Nights on separate dates: the former on Friday, August 29th, while the latter on Thursday, September 4th. Both events will continue running on specific nights all the way up to Halloween.
