Simone Biles is beaming in her new hairdo.

Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles surprised fans with a new hairstyle – soft, curly locks – while supporting her husband, Jonathan Owens, and the Chicago Bears. It was a big change from her typically sleek, straight hair.

On November 28th, the gymnast shared a photo on Instagram showing off her new hairstyle. She was wearing a gray and orange Chicago Bears sweatshirt while smiling, and celebrated her husband’s team defeating the Philadelphia Eagles. She simply captioned the post, “Something a little different,” with a hair emoji.

Recently, the 28-year-old has been open about her skincare and beauty routine. She even shared details about getting eyelid surgery to address a long-held insecurity.

I recently had a lower blepharoplasty – basically, surgery to address under-eye bags. It’s something my whole family deals with, and I like to call them ‘Biles eye bags’ because they’re so common in our lineage! It’s just a hereditary thing, and I felt like it was a noticeable feature I wanted to address.

She explained that at every photoshoot, people would ask if they could apply adhesive body tape to her.

Simone ultimately chose to have surgery to address the excess fat under her eyes. The Cleveland Clinic explains this procedure involves removing and reshaping that fat.

She explained that after getting only 12 hours of sleep the night before, she knew the issue wouldn’t resolve quickly, saying, ‘I knew this wasn’t going to go away on its own.’ Because of this, she was motivated to find a solution.

Beyond winning medals, she believes it’s crucial to be open and honest about her own doubts and vulnerabilities.

Winning Olympic medals might seem distant and unattainable, but everyone can connect with struggles with self-worth, personal conversations, life’s challenges, and being open and honest about their experiences.

The gymnast recently revealed in the comments of her TikTok video from October 29th that she’s had a few cosmetic procedures. Besides a lower eyelid surgery, she’s also had a breast augmentation and had her earlobe reconstructed after an earring was torn out when she was a child.

And if she can spread one message about beauty, it is that social media isn’t always as it seems. 

She explained that seeing everyone online makes it easy to compare yourself to others and wonder how they always look so perfect. Because social media often isn’t an accurate reflection of reality, she makes a point of being open and honest about herself.
