Miley Cyrus and Maxx Morando are embarking on something truly beautiful. 

Following Miley Cyrus and Liily drummer Dominic Fike’s appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar: The Last Airbender on December 1st – where Miley was seen wearing a ring – several news sources have confirmed that they are engaged.

The couple, who started dating in 2021, looked happy and shared affectionate moments with each other at the recent movie premiere.

Miley showed off a striking look with a black, sequined gown, silver jewelry, and a thick gold engagement ring featuring a large diamond. Maxx opted for a classic and understated style, wearing a simple black suit with a white shirt.

Miley and Maxx recently announced some exciting news. This comes after Miley, 33, talked about their age difference – she’s six years older than Maxx, 27 – and shared that she enjoys being the more experienced partner.

She expressed hope that her son will have a similar positive turning point in his life, saying, ‘If he follows the path I took, I think things will be wonderful.’ She shared that she began to change her life for the better around the same age her son is now, during an appearance on the Sorry We’re Cyrus podcast.

Miley, who was married to Liam Hemsworth from 2018 to 2020, has said that their age difference is just one of the things that has worked for them during their four-year relationship.

She explained that Maxx, like his grandfather, is a Scorpio, which she believes gives him a captivating and slightly dangerous edge. She described Scorpios as appearing innocent and charming, but capable of surprising others with a sharp, unexpected reaction.

The former Hannah Montana star playfully said that Maxx’s strong personality has been the key to their lasting relationship. She explained that someone less assertive wouldn’t have lasted, joking they’d be ‘finished’ quickly.

Their connection extends to their professional lives as well. Miley recently included her fiancé in her visual album, Something Beautiful, where he played drums on the track “End of the World” and also made a brief appearance in the “Walk of Fame” video.

For Miley, the collaboration was a natural fit. 

Honestly, she told Harper’s Bazaar last year that she only ever works with people she genuinely loves, and she said Maxx just completely inspires her. It’s so obvious how much she admires him, it makes my heart melt! I knew it! They just get each other creatively, you can tell.

Miley’s relationship with Maxx hasn’t been without its challenges. She’s admitted she learned from past mistakes to find happiness with him. Earlier this year, she talked about her previous marriage, explaining she once tried to change who she was to make it work.

She shared in an interview with her mom and sisters, Noah and Brandi Cyrus, for The Cut that she’s found someone who values and treats her well. She explained that she had to unlearn unhealthy relationship patterns she was taught by her mother and figure out what a healthy relationship actually looks like on her own.
