In the upcoming film “Tron: Ares“, Jared Leto is one of the stars, but he’s not the main antagonist. Instead, the Dillinger family maintains that position, with Gillian Anderson portraying Elisabeth Dillinger and Evan Peters as her son, Julian. Anderson shared insights into their dynamic in the recent edition of Empire Magazine, along with a picture of Peters in costume. With his Marvel experience, Peters is a double star within the franchise, and it seems he may return to it in future projects. But before that, catch him in “Tron: Ares“, hitting theaters on October 10th.
The Tron series, since 1982, has been focusing on the Dillinger corporation’s adventures, and the newest addition follows suit. As per Anderson, in this film, her character primarily relinquishes control to her son, who is keen to demonstrate his abilities. She hinted that he might possess a greater capacity for wickedness than Elizabeth.
Dealing with a child like Julian, whose behavior causes emotional and practical challenges, puts an extra burden on their relationship, creating tension,” she explained.
Peters has a knack for portraying diverse versions of wayward youth, ranging from seemingly benevolent but arrogant to downright malicious. He delved into the darker side in 2022’s “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” which garnered him an Emmy nomination. But prior to that, he was a central figure in the world of superheroes, appearing in movies like “Kick-Ass” and the “X-Men” series.
In the movies “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, “X-Men: Apocalypse”, and “Dark Phoenix”, as well as a cameo in “Deadpool 2”, Ralph Bohner portrayed the character Peter Maximoff, also known as Quicksilver. This role is officially recognized within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, leading fans to speculate whether we’ll see him alongside other X-Men in future crossover events. Notably, Ralph Bohner also plays a separate part in the MCU series “WandaVision” and “Agatha All Along”.
In December 2026 during “Avengers: Doomsday,” the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is set to intersect with the X-Men series. While Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, aka Spiderman, isn’t confirmed for that film, several major stars from the X-Men franchise will be present. Based on the happenings in “Deadpool & Wolverine,” it seems probable that the X-Men universe will be portrayed as a distinct reality from the MCU’s Earth-616. Post this crossover, both universes are expected to merge, but the specifics of how they will join and any potential recastings remain unknown at this time.
For the time being, we can only guess about Peter’s potential as a superhero, but it seems that his role as a villain in the upcoming film “Tron: Ares” is fast approaching. The movie is set to premiere in U.S. theaters on October 10th.
