6 EastEnders spoilers: Linda Carter and Max Branning stage explosive returns as Zoe Slater is trapped in a blaze

Lots is happening on EastEnders this week leading up to Christmas! Linda Carter and Max Branning are both returning to Albert Square.

Hidden truths are about to be revealed, and a fire is rapidly spreading through the building at number 25. During the chaos, Oscar (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) is hurt while attempting to rescue Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan).

Jasmine Fisher’s hidden life comes to light, and Lily Slater opens up to Kat Moon about her growing concerns for her grandmother Jean’s well-being.

Here’s a look at everything happening in Walford between Monday 15th and Thursday 18th December.

7 EastEnders spoilers

1. Jasmine Fisher’s identity is revealed as a fire breaks out at No. 25

Oscar’s return home with Jasmine shocks the Branning-Beales, and they worry he’s made a mistake. Concerned for Cindy and his family’s safety, Ian decides to contact the police.

During questioning, it’s finally discovered that Jasmine has a connection to the infamous Fords!

After learning this, Oscar ends his relationship. She tries to make amends, then turns to a surprising friend for comfort.

A fire starts at number 25, and while everyone watches in shock, Oscar spots someone inside and tries to rescue them.

2. Zoe Slater is trapped amid the flames as Kat Moon kickstarts her mission to help her

Okay, so the tension really ratchets up here. Just when Kat uncovers something huge – something that clearly impacts her daughter – Oscar is suddenly scrambling through the house, desperately trying to reach Zoe. It’s a classic setup, but it works; you immediately feel the urgency and worry, and I was on the edge of my seat wondering what both discoveries meant.

The news – presumably about the identity of her missing son – is unsettling.

Kat initially decides against having a community dinner at The Vic, and people aren’t happy about it. However, after talking with Alfie, she changes her mind and gets the whole family involved in preparing for the event.

Meanwhile, Zoe comes face-to-face with someone from her past…

3. Max Branning is back as family secrets implode

It’s Max! But will he and Zoe be able to make amends?

Honestly, I was shocked to see him just walk into Albert Square, especially with his daughter’s house practically burning down! And it’s clear this isn’t just about the fire – he’s going to cause a lot more trouble for everyone. It’s infuriating!

Cindy and Kathy disagree about how Jimmy’s New Year’s Day baptism should be done, and Lauren worries Peter will soon discover the charity money is missing.

Ian promises to handle the money situation, but her anxieties worsen when Peter realizes the cash is likely missing due to theft.

Following Oscar’s hospital stay after the fire, Max notices an unusual connection between Ian and Lauren while he’s keeping vigil at Oscar’s bedside.

Max later tells Jack what he suspects, and then decides to announce it publicly while at The Vic.

All eyes soon turn to Lauren, and he tries to right his wrongs by stepping in to support her.

4. Linda Carter returns at the worst possible time

Linda returned home after six months traveling the world on a cruise, just as Elaine was putting the finishing touches on a fun and festive opening for her new bed and breakfast, called Peacock Palace.

Things took a really strange turn for me when I bumped into Sam. He’s waiting to hear back about a biopsy, and I was so worried about him. But then, I saw Max, and honestly, it was awful. It completely threw me for a loop and I was just horrified to see him there.

She hasn’t revealed anything to him about Annie yet, and the unspoken secret is creating tension as they go for drinks at The Albert.

5. The Slaters rally to help Jean in her hour of need

Jean is increasingly isolating herself, and Lily is finding it difficult to cope. During a chat with Kat and Alfie, she unintentionally reveals problems at home, prompting them to look into the situation.

The house at number 31 is in disarray, and Lily admits they’re struggling to keep things together. Jean shares something personal about what’s been happening, and Kat promises to support her through it.

6. Julie Bates suggests alternative care options for Nigel

Nigel wasn’t feeling well, so Julie made him a doctor’s appointment, but Phil didn’t think it was necessary. When Nigel spoke to the doctor, he intentionally left out some information.

After that, Nigel misplaces his cufflinks, and things get awkward when he bumps into Julie while searching for them.

Honestly, it broke my heart watching that scene. Julie gently suggested to Phil that maybe they needed to consider a higher level of care, but he just completely dismissed her idea. It felt so unfair and really highlighted the disconnect between them.
