5 has revealed that Home and Away will leave its familiar daytime slot next year.
The Australian soap has held the same 1:45pm weekday timeslot on the channel for years.
The show recently took its usual winter break and will be back in January, but it will now air on a different channel instead of the main one.
5 announced that the show will now only be available on its streaming app for daytime viewers, meaning fans will need to watch it on demand instead of on traditional television.
5Star showings will continue as usual. The latest episode airs at 6:30 PM, and you can re-watch yesterday’s episode at 6:00 PM.
Starting in March, Channel 5 began releasing new episodes of the soap opera at 6:00 AM on weekdays, before they aired on television.

In its first month, views increased by 17% compared to the previous year, showing that people quickly started using the platform, according to a statement from 5.
As a film buff, I was thrilled to see this positive trend just keep building all year long. Each month consistently beat out the same month from the year before – it was fantastic to watch!
Viewers are now used to watching the show through streaming services, and last month saw record numbers do so, with a 23% increase in total viewing hours compared to the same time last year.
Greg Barnett, from Channel 5, explained that Home and Away is performing exceptionally well on their streaming service. Viewers are really enjoying the convenience of watching whenever they want, which has led to a significant increase in viewers – well over 10% compared to last year – and has made streaming the most popular way to watch the show.
Shifting our daytime shows to streaming only is a logical move, as it aligns with how people prefer to watch their favorite programs these days.
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1:45pm on 5.
