The Alters, a highly-rated sci-fi survival game for PlayStation 5 that came out earlier this year, is getting a major update today. This update adds new features, lets you customize the game even more, and includes new ways to play. You can check out everything new in the trailer.
Today’s update adds a new module called the Gamer’s Den, which includes a custom card game you can play. The developers even added it “because even a stranded workforce of Jans needs somewhere to unwind.”
I’m really excited about the new update! They’ve added a cool, black and white noir storyline where you have to track down this mysterious figure – it’s a really different vibe. Plus, you can finally customize your base and spacesuit with different skins, which is awesome! It’s great to be able to personalize things a bit more.

The update adds several new ways to play, including Relax Mode. This mode offers a more laid-back experience with reduced pressure, making it ideal for players who want to focus on the story. You’ll also find a Photo Mode and an improved save system that lets you better manage choices and their consequences.
This new content enhances the sci-fi survival experience of The Alters, a game we previously called tense, thrilling, and thoughtful, giving it an 8/10 rating. We believe The Alters is 11 Bit Studios’ best work yet – a game that’s both exciting and makes you reflect on your own choices.
