Jenna Bush Hager’s Permanent Today Co-Host Revealed

Jenna Bush Hager is ready to officially inaugurate a new colleague.

Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with ‘Today With Jenna & Friends,’ and honestly, the parade of guest co-hosts over the last year was amazing – Brooke Shields, Olivia Munn, even Scarlett Johansson! But I was starting to worry about who would be sticking around permanently. Well, Jenna finally announced it, and I’m SO excited! Sheinelle Jones from ‘Today’ is going to be her permanent co-host starting next year! I seriously couldn’t be happier – they’re going to be the best duo!

Jenna announced on the morning show December 9th that she’s found a lifelong friend and they’re beginning a new chapter together in January. She expressed immense excitement about sharing this person with viewers, describing her as a well-known and exceptional broadcaster who truly embodies the spirit of the show.

Sheinelle is just as excited to be joining the fourth hour of NBC News. Looking back on her career, she feels incredibly grateful for how things gradually unfolded, and says landing this show is a dream come true. She’s especially happy to be working alongside Jenna.

Both Jenna and Chanel became emotional as they talked about their years-long friendship. Jenna shared, “Being able to work alongside Chanel, someone I’ve known for ten years, and grow even closer to her will be a wonderful part of this experience.”

For months, people wondered if familiar faces like Matt Rogers or Regina Hall might replace Hoda Kotb. However, Sheinelle Jones will be joining Jenna Bush Hager as a new co-host on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, starting January 12th.

Shev joined the Today show family in October 2014, initially as a co-host of Weekend Today. Since January 2019, she has hosted the Third Hour of Today.

Recently, Sheinelle Jones took time away from work—almost nine months—to be with her family as her husband, Uche Ojeh, fought brain cancer. After his passing in May, she returned to Today and described her co-hosts—Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, Dylan Dreyer, and Jenna—as her own family.

Upon her return in September, she expressed immense gratitude, saying her fans had been her lifeline. She also thanked those watching from home for their supportive messages and prayers.

Sheinelle, a mom to 16-year-old Kayin and 13-year-old twins Clara and Uche, wasn’t the only one happy to be back at work. Her friend Savannah warmly welcomed her, telling her that the studio felt better with her there.

It really struck me when my colleague said how much Sheinelle was missed. It’s a feeling I think many of us can relate to – wanting to be present for all of life’s moments, both the tough and the wonderful. And she was there in spirit, but things just aren’t quite the same when someone you care about isn’t physically with you. It’s a reminder of how valuable those connections are.

Savannah added, “You’re the heartbeat here, and we’re so happy that you’re home.”

Now that Sheinelle is joining Jenna on Today With Jenna & Sheinelle, check out a preview of other shows coming out in 2026.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m loving this new series! It’s a spin-off of The Valley, but this time we’re following a close group of Persian friends who’ve swapped the glitz of Beverly Hills for a more settled life in the suburbs. It’s so relatable – they’re dealing with all the things we all are: marriage, raising kids, and building careers. But what’s really fascinating is seeing how those everyday challenges affect their deep-rooted friendships and relationships. They come from a culture that puts family, loyalty, and friendship first, so when things do go wrong, emotions run high – and honestly, it makes for really compelling viewing as they navigate all of life’s ups and downs!

In season four, luck and chance play a big role as players risk everything within the castle walls. Every decision, partnership, and act of backstabbing could completely alter the course of the game.

However, Detective Jack Harper becomes wary of her involvement, and she finds herself under his scrutiny. As the investigation unfolds, it becomes clear that everyone has a different version of events, and someone isn’t telling the truth – it’s a story of HIS & HERS.

I’ve been completely hooked by the incredible, real-life stories of people struggling to survive in London’s East End back in the 1880s. It’s heartbreaking to see how much things have changed for Hezekiah – he’s a shell of his former self. And poor Sugar Goodson… he’s pushed everyone away and is just trying to numb the pain. Just when Wapping feels like it’s about to give up, Mary Carr returns! She’s brought Alice Diamond with her, and they’re determined to rebuild their crew and take back what’s rightfully theirs. Mary always has a scheme brewing, and this one feels bigger and more dangerous than anything she’s attempted before. It’s going to involve everyone she cares about, and honestly, I’m on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen!

Oh my god, season three of Tell Me Lies is EVERYTHING! Lucy and Stephen are back together, can you believe it? It’s spring semester at Baird, and they swear this time will be different, but honestly, knowing them… things are already messy. Lucy gets dragged into some drama she didn’t ask for, and all the fallout from last year is forcing everyone to confront how badly they’ve been behaving. Seriously, secrets are bubbling up everywhere, and it feels like everything is about to explode and ruin everything for Lucy and all her friends. I’m on the edge of my seat!

While his brothers have found their wives, Benedict really isn’t interested in settling down… until he meets this absolutely stunning woman in silver at their mother’s ball. I’m already completely captivated by their potential story!
