The Putman family is still healing after a deadly car crash.
Three months after Bill “Papa” Putman, Barb “Neenee” Putman, and their daughter-in-law Megan Putman tragically died in a car accident in Michigan, the family from the show Meet the Putmans shared news about how those who survived are doing. They revealed that 11-year-old Gia Putman, daughter of Brandon and Kacie Putman, is still recovering and faces ongoing challenges.
The Putmans shared on Instagram on December 9th that the last three months have been incredibly difficult for their family. Their daughter, Gia, recently had her tenth major surgery in just 75 days, and the family hasn’t been able to spend time together since September 26th.
Ever since the young girl had her first skull surgery on September 27th, her family and friends have been offering her strong support.
Standing by Gia’s side after her surgery, my husband and I were reflecting on all God has brought her through. It was incredible – even during her brief recovery in the ICU, medical staff – doctors, nurses, even the cleaning crew – kept coming by just to say hello! They were so happy to see Gia doing better, but honestly, I believe they sensed something special in our family, a touch of God’s peace and joy. They seemed to need a little lift, and we realized that kind of joy truly comes from a higher power.
Despite the fact that Blake Putman and his children – Noah, 15, Lulu, 13, and Alena, 11 – were all hospitalized after the accident, the family remained positive and found strength in their faith to cope with the difficult situation.
They admitted they felt like their family deserved some relief after everything they’d been through. However, despite being physically worn out and in pain, their spirits remained strong. They pleaded with God to use their struggles for a greater purpose, offering their pain as a means to do good.

They shared, “Even though it’s frightening to step outside what’s familiar, we hope you’ll join us in praying for God to use us, trusting completely in His plan.”
On the night of September 26th, a Jeep carrying eight family members was struck by a semi-truck near Detroit. According to the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office, the truck ran a stop sign, causing a crash that resulted in three fatalities.

Lupita Nyong’o received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the year she won an Academy Award for her acting performance.
She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with the condition for over ten years.
She explained that many girls are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being a woman. This often leaves them dealing with a common issue in silence and feeling isolated.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she’d been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap in her abdominal muscles.
Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter) asking why she hadn’t tweeted recently. Suki jokingly replied, explaining she’d been hiding a serious medical issue – a hernia caused by wearing very tight pants six months ago – out of embarrassment.

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery because his appendix was close to rupturing.

“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I’ve been experiencing spasms all over my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation—within the past year, actually.”
He explained that his pain is intermittent, saying, “My body has a few quirks and isn’t quite working as it should.”

Oh my god, you will NOT believe what I just heard! Apparently, he was in SO much back pain – like, seriously debilitating – that he actually had to crawl to the hospital! Can you imagine?! He was on an RV trip with a friend when it just got completely unbearable. I’m seriously so worried about him!
Okay, so I was listening to his podcast – seriously, I hang on every word – and he was talking about this crazy thing happening with his leg. He said even now, like, bringing his knees to his chest still feels all tingly, which is wild! He explained that just a few weeks ago, he was squatting almost 300 pounds! But now? He can’t even do a squat, let alone a single-leg one – he actually falls! He said it feels like he had a stroke, which is terrifying to hear, honestly. I’m so worried about him!
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

I heard he actually had to be wheeled out of Madison Square Garden. I was so worried! It was terrifying to even think about. I’m still hoping he’s okay and back to his hilarious self soon!
The comedian later posted on social media to explain he’d actually gotten food poisoning and was starting to feel better.

In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone else at a party. They fired a weapon unsafely, and the bullet grazed her five times, with one shot narrowly missing her right eye. @thebrendanrooney quickly helped, evaluating her injury and immediately taking her to the hospital.
The former Kim Possible star explained that a small piece of something got stuck behind her eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, but they will keep a close watch on her condition, as her vision is currently normal.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, even though it can be harsh, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” and receiving critical comments online, doctors began commenting on interviews, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome, a condition often linked to high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted Schumer to realize she had been receiving steroid injections following a breast reduction and C-section. She later learned she had a form of Cushing syndrome that would resolve on its own, which she called “the greatest news imaginable.” Schumer shared this relief in a February 2024 newsletter, expressing gratitude for her good health.

In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly began to have stroke-like symptoms, initially unable to respond when Justin asked if she was okay. She then found she couldn’t speak and the right side of her face started to droop.
Although the symptoms eventually subsided, Hailey went to the hospital where tests revealed she had suffered a small blood clot in her brain, diagnosed as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack).
Further testing at UCLA discovered a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). Doctors determined the blood clot had traveled to her brain through this hole, causing the TIA.
Hailey underwent a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now recovering well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the condition affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also mentioned it became increasingly difficult for him to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, calling the situation scary but assuring everyone he would be completely fine and that she was grateful he was on the mend.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I was SO worried about Jamie Foxx! He kept everything so private at first, but he finally shared what happened, and it was terrifying. He was in Atlanta, and he told it in his Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, that he had this awful headache and asked for aspirin. But he blacked out before he could even take it! He literally doesn’t remember twenty days! Can you imagine?! At first, a doctor just gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but thankfully his sister, Deidra Dixon, knew something was seriously wrong and rushed him to the hospital. They discovered he had a brain bleed that caused a stroke. It was so scary! He had surgery, and then twenty days later, on May 4th, he woke up in a wheelchair! He couldn’t even walk! He had to go to Chicago for rehab and therapy. He said he’s so grateful for all the prayers, and honestly, so am I. He needed every single one, and it’s just amazing to see him recovering. I’m just so relieved he’s okay!

The reality TV star said she temporarily stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC show.
She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather before everything went dark. Afterwards, she saw light, which led her to realize she had died that day.
She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where your body essentially begins to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, bravely battled serious health issues. In 2019, she revealed in an essay for The New Yorker that she suffered a life-threatening brain hemorrhage while at the gym in 2019. She described experiencing a sudden, intense headache and becoming violently ill, realizing something was seriously wrong.
A scan revealed she had a ruptured aneurysm, a type of stroke caused by bleeding around the brain. She underwent immediate surgery, which she described as incredibly painful. During her recovery, she temporarily lost her ability to speak, often muttering nonsensically.
Though she recovered and was discharged after a month, a 2013 scan showed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This procedure was initially unsuccessful, leading to further bleeding and a critical situation. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull. Thankfully, Emilia has since made a full recovery and is now completely healthy.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always moved by stories of resilience and family, and Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, recently shared a powerful one. She opened up about a scary health scare – a stroke she experienced in January 2024. Thankfully, her family rallied around her immediately. She told TopMob News that she simply texted them what happened, sent a picture, and they all rushed to her side.
Her hospital stay ended up being longer than expected, though, because she was also dealing with lupus and kidney issues on top of recovering from the stroke. It was a lot to handle!
But the good news is, Cori is doing much better now! She says she’s feeling great and is working on regaining some motor skills, but overall, she’s on the mend. It’s a beautiful reminder of the importance of family and staying strong through tough times.

Shailene Woodley struggled with her health throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she explained that she experienced hearing loss, debilitating fatigue, and digestive issues. She saw many doctors but received conflicting diagnoses. Because of her background in holistic medicine and herbalism, Shailene sought answers from both traditional doctors and alternative healers, hoping to find relief and understand what was happening to her body. This health journey lasted for ten years. The physical discomfort led to anxiety around food and, eventually, struggles with body image, identity, and feeling comfortable in her own skin. Fortunately, after years of focusing on both her physical and mental wellbeing, Shailene is now healthy and doing well. She’s grateful to be able to say she has fully recovered.
