These 4 Iconic Skyrim NPCs Need to Cameo in Elder Scrolls 6

Most Bethesda fans wouldn’t be surprised to see a few more versions of Skyrim released before The Elder Scrolls 6 finally comes out. The recent surprise launch of Skyrim on the Switch 2, combined with Todd Howard’s comments that the next game is still quite a ways off, supports this idea. Bethesda hasn’t shared many details about The Elder Scrolls 6, so fans are left to guess and imagine what it will be like. While there have been lots of rumors, the game’s setting and other key details remain a mystery. We do know a few characters who are planned to appear, though.

Bethesda has announced that a few memorable characters will appear in The Elder Scrolls 6, including the popular ‘Skyrim Grandma’ and some well-known figures from the Elder Scrolls community. This got me thinking – since the game will likely be set in a new location, but travel options like boats and magic will exist, which beloved NPCs from Skyrim would fans love to see make a cameo? Here are four fan favorites I’d like to see return in The Elder Scrolls 6, whenever it’s released.

4) Ralof

While I personally like “Let me guess, someone stole your sweet roll,” Ralof likely has the most famous line in Skyrim. I’m talking about the very beginning of the game – his opening lines, “Hey, you. You’re finally awake.” Ralof says these lines, making him the first character players meet in Skyrim, every time they start a new game.

Your interactions with Ralof will vary depending on your choices during the Helgen escape and whether you join the Stormcloaks. Even if you don’t see him again, Ralof is a well-known character to fans of Skyrim. It would be great to see him make a brief appearance in Elder Scrolls 6, perhaps with a comment about how aware the player character seems.

4) Lydia

You’ll likely become Thane of Whiterun in Skyrim, even if you don’t pursue that title in every city. Becoming friends with Whiterun’s Jarl is a key part of the main story, and it rewards you with Lydia, your first companion. Because of this, many players have spent a significant portion of their game exploring Skyrim with Lydia by their side.

Okay, so Lydia is pretty much your classic strong, silent type – not a big talker, but incredibly skilled in combat. Honestly, though, I think a lot of fans, myself included, would do anything to keep her safe in the next Elder Scrolls game. Seeing her face again would instantly make The Elder Scrolls 6 feel comfortable and familiar. It would be amazing if she was a companion again, of course, but even a quick glimpse of her enjoying a peaceful retirement somewhere would be perfect. Just knowing she’s okay after everything would be enough!

2) Paarthurnax

It’s hard to forget the surprise of discovering who the Greybeards really followed. After facing countless dragons, players were shocked to find Paarthurnax waiting at the Throat of the World. While the Blades ask you to kill him, many Skyrim players choose not to. This wise dragon becomes a helpful ally and guide during the game, and a lot of players leave him safe at the Throat of the World every time they play.

Okay, so if I did kill Paarthurnax in Skyrim, that’s obviously a problem for Elder Scrolls 6 – he’d be, well, dead! But let’s just say for the sake of argument that I spared him, which feels more right to me anyway. I’d really love to see Paarthurnax show up in the next Elder Scrolls game, even if it’s just someone mentioning the story of the Dragonborn and how he knew this ancient dragon. It would be awesome!

1) Serana

I know Serana wasn’t actually in the original Skyrim – she came with the Dawnguard expansion. But honestly, she’s become one of my absolute favorite characters! So many Skyrim fans, myself included, love her witty, sarcastic personality. She’s just a fantastic companion to have with you on your adventures, and I always choose her when I want some company.

Because Serana is a vampire who’s essentially immortal, she could easily reappear in future Elder Scrolls games, no matter how much time passes. It would be great if Bethesda allowed players to marry her without needing to use modifications. But mostly, I’m curious to find out what she’s been doing since defeating her father.

If you could bring any character from Skyrim into The Elder Scrolls 6, who would it be? Share your thoughts in the comments and join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum!
