ITV has announced the date for the long-awaited crossover event between Coronation Street and Emmerdale, promising a special night where the two shows will connect.
This episode will also introduce a new schedule for our two most popular soaps. They’ll now air back-to-back each weeknight from 8pm in what we’re calling a ‘power hour’.
I’m hearing things are still unclear, but it sounds like a serious crash – a multi-vehicle pile-up – is going to happen on a country road near Hotten, and people are going to be hurt. It seems like this will all go down after Debbie Webster’s wedding, and it looks like Belle Dingle might be helping her plan it, which is a little worrying given everything!

Police in Weatherfield are now looking for John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), with wanted posters appearing at the police station, suggesting he’ll appear in the upcoming episodes.
So far, several actors from Coronation Street will be appearing, including Vicky Myers as DS Lisa Swain, Jack P Shepherd as David Platt, and Kate Ford as Tracy McDonald. From Emmerdale, Danny Miller (Aaron Dingle) and Johnny McPherson (Dr. Liam Cavanagh) are also confirmed to be part of the project.
Initial images revealed intense explosions and wrecked vehicles along the road, and the trailer featured several familiar characters desperately calling for assistance.

Luckily, you haven’t got long to watch the episode, as it will air on Monday, 5th January at 8pm.
In October, Corrie producer Kate Brooks teased what was ahead.
She said filming is going incredibly well, with a fantastic director and great scripts. The actors are really enjoying the project because it’s unlike anything they’ve worked on before.

“The mood and camaraderie is really infectious!”
She went on to say she was thinking about her mum watching the episode. Knowing how much her mum loves soap operas, she predicted she’d be incredibly excited to see two of her favorite shows crossover with all the characters she loves in what she described as a huge, can’t-miss TV event.
A lot of dedicated work has gone into making this happen, both on and off screen. The actors have been fantastic, and coordinating everything behind the scenes presented a significant logistical challenge.
This really shows how dedicated and enthusiastic everyone has been. People have truly poured their hearts into this project.
