Lili Reinhart Shares Endometriosis Diagnosis

Lili Reinhart is sharing insight into her health journey.

Lili Reinhart, known for her role on Riverdale, recently received an endometriosis diagnosis. She explained that the diagnosis came after many visits to the hospital and doctors.

On December 11th, a 29-year-old shared on Instagram that she was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis after seeing a urogynecologist. She explained that doctors told her there’s currently no cure and no way to permanently relieve her symptoms.

She shared that she’d seen doctors three times, including several specialists in urology and gynecology, but none of them thought to investigate endometriosis as a possible explanation for her health problems.

She also posted a graphic highlighting statistics she’s gathered, revealing that people with endometriosis – a painful condition affecting the reproductive organs and pelvic tissue, according to the Mayo Clinic – are sixteen times more likely to also have interstitial cystitis, which causes bladder pain.

Lili said the long process of getting diagnosed was a major source of her frustration.

She explained that she didn’t learn about endometriosis as a possible cause of her pain until she saw two pelvic floor therapists.

For the actress, advocating for herself was key to getting answers.

I really had to advocate for myself and push to get an MRI, and thankfully it finally led to a diagnosis of adenomyosis. After that, I found an endometriosis specialist who I felt comfortable with, and together we decided laparoscopic surgery was the right path for me. It was so confusing though, because another gynecologist actually told me I likely didn’t have endometriosis and suggested I just try birth control pills instead. It was a really frustrating experience trying to navigate all the different opinions.

Having faced difficulties herself, Lili inspired her readers to find their voice and advocate for their own needs, just as she had done.

She finished by saying she was happy she listened to her intuition and encouraged others to do the same. She explained that endometriosis is often poorly understood, and it can take many years – between 4 and 11 – to get a clear diagnosis through surgery. The World Health Organization estimates that about 1 in 10 people with a uterus experience endometriosis.

Lili is fortunate to have a strong support system, especially her boyfriend, Jack Martin, who helped her cope with the challenges of interstitial cystitis earlier this year.

She shared on Instagram on January 23rd that she wouldn’t have been able to cope without her partner. She explained that it’s challenging to be in a relationship with someone who is chronically ill, especially when she was largely confined to her home for months, unable to walk because of pain, and struggling with depression due to her declining health.

Lili shared about actor Jack, saying his love and support remained constant even when she was at her weakest and her health was failing.

She didn’t reveal her diagnosis until 2025, sharing on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.

She explained that many girls are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being a woman, leaving them to deal with it privately and feeling isolated. It’s something that impacts most of us, yet we often struggle with it on our own.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always talking about comfort and style, and recently, I learned a valuable lesson from one of my favorite actresses! She shared that she actually had to be hospitalized because of a hernia – basically, a weak spot in the abdominal muscles – and it was caused by wearing pants that were just too tight. It’s a reminder that while fashion is fun, prioritizing your health and comfort is always the most important thing!

She messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “You haven’t tweeted in ages!” She then jokingly added, “I’ve been meaning to tell you… I think I got a hernia six months ago from wearing super tight pants, and I’ve been too afraid to say anything.”

“It’s been awful,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I experience spasms all over my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation—within the last year, actually.”

He explained that his pain is intermittent, saying his body has some minor imperfections and isn’t quite working as it should.

A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He said he was in so much pain he had to crawl to get help, and the pain worsened during a road trip with a friend.

He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes during a March 2025 episode of his podcast, Trading Secrets. He explained that just a few weeks prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he can’t even do a single squat or stand on one leg without falling. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

After noticing she looked “puffier” and facing criticism online, doctors began commenting on interviews, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome, a condition often linked to high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted Schumer to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. She wouldn’t have known about the condition without the online attention. Thankfully, doctors determined her case of Cushing syndrome would resolve on its own, which she shared was “the greatest news imaginable.” She’s now relieved to be healthy.

She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, initially unable to respond when Justin asked if she was okay. She then realized she couldn’t speak and the right side of her face began to droop.

Although the symptoms eventually subsided, Hailey went to the hospital where doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain, which they diagnosed as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack).

Further testing at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). Doctors determined the blood clot had passed through this hole and traveled to her brain, causing the TIA.

Hailey underwent a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now recovering well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also went through a difficult time. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.

In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the condition affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it was becoming increasingly difficult for him to eat.

Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, saying it had been a frightening and unexpected situation, but he was going to be completely fine and she was grateful he was on the mend.

A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She immediately underwent surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, leaving her unable to speak clearly.

After a week, her speech returned, and she was discharged from the hospital a month later. However, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This procedure failed, causing a major bleed, and doctors warned her chances of survival were low without another operation. This time, they had to access her brain directly through her skull.

Fortunately, Emilia is now fully recovered and says she is back to one hundred percent.
