It’s becoming simpler to personalize your Windows 11 computer. Microsoft is adding a new section to the Microsoft Store with a wide variety of themes to choose from.
The Microsoft Store has always offered lots of themes, but now they’ve created a dedicated Themes section to help you browse and install them more easily.
Microsoft is launching a new Themes section in the Microsoft Store on Windows. This will allow customers to easily discover and apply curated and popular themes to personalize their Windows devices with just one click, according to Microsoft Store Vice President Giorgio Sardo in a recent blog post.
As a huge PC fan, I’ve been hearing from a lot of people who want to personalize their computers! It’s awesome because everyone has different reasons. Some gamers want to show off their favorite new titles, while others – like me! – just love seeing characters we adore every time we sit down to work or play. Designers are looking for backgrounds that inspire them, and honestly, a lot of us just want a desktop that feels good and brightens our day. It’s all about making it *your* space!
The new Themes feature is being released in stages, so it might not be available on your computer just yet. Even if you haven’t received the update, you can still download and try out themes directly from Microsoft. They’ve highlighted a couple of options, like the Sea of Thieves and Dreamscapes themes.
As part of my ongoing research this year, I’ve been following the story of Microsoft’s themes. It started back in January when Microsoft announced they were going to stop supporting their dedicated theme download webpage. For a while after that, both the old website and the themes available in the Microsoft Store were still available, offering users ways to personalize their computers.
Microsoft did eventually remove the old page, directing users to the Microsoft Store instead. However, the Store wasn’t prepared for so many people looking for themes. While it had hundreds of options, they were difficult to find due to poor organization.
The Microsoft Store’s Themes section has more than 400 different looks for your device, with 35 new ones added recently. You can find them by clicking the paintbrush icon just below the AI Hub shortcut.
Sardo pointed out that the Microsoft Store offers many apps for personalizing Windows 11, specifically mentioning TranslucentTB, Lively Wallpaper, and Seelen UI.
