Channel 4 is adjusting its programming schedule for a special night on Friday, December 12th, to help raise money for Stand Up to Cancer.
Just a heads-up – the Cancer Clinic: Live broadcast has been delayed a bit. It was supposed to start at 8pm, but now it’s scheduled for 8:10pm. I’ll be tuning in then!
The broadcast is being paused to show a special message from the King, where he will share his personal experience with cancer. It’s scheduled to begin at 8pm.
Cancer Clinic: Live, hosted by Davina McCall, is a live show that follows patients at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge as they go through important stages of their cancer treatment.
The King’s upcoming message will highlight how important regular health screenings are for catching illnesses early. He’ll also share his own personal experience with recovery to encourage others.
It’s been some time since the public received an official health update on the King. However, during a visit to Bradford in May, local florist Safeena Khan asked how he was doing, and he replied that he felt he was improving in his recovery from cancer.
As a big fan of using entertainment for good, I always look forward to Channel 4 and Cancer Research UK’s ‘Stand Up to Cancer’ campaign. It’s a week packed with fun events and challenges featuring celebrities, all designed to remind people about the importance of getting checked for cancer and to support those affected by it. It all builds up to a fantastic night of live comedy and entertainment on Channel 4 on Friday – it’s a great way to raise both awareness and money for a really important cause.
In addition to the live performance by McCall and the King’s recorded message, the evening will also feature special episodes of The Last Leg and Celebrity Gogglebox.
The charity event will feature some famous faces teaming up, including David and Georgia Tennant, Joe Marler and Nick Mohammed (who starred together in Celebrity Traitors), Josh Hartnett with his wife Tamsin Egerton, and Oscar winner Kieran Culkin with his wife Jazz Charton.
