Taylor Swift was delicate with the latest updates to her past albums.
Taylor Swift quietly updated the lyrics to a couple of songs – “I Did Something Bad” and “Delicate” – on the Dolby Atmos version of her album Reputation that Apple Music released on December 12th.
In a song from her 2017 album, Taylor Swift previously sang about not owing anyone anything if they mentioned her name or used her money, implying they deserved any consequences.
In the upcoming song, Taylor Swift sings, “If someone disrespects me, I don’t owe them anything, and if they insult me, they brought it on themselves.”
The fifth song on the album features a minor lyric change. In the song “Delicate,” Taylor Swift originally sang, “Dark jeans and your Nikes, look at you / Oh, damn, never seen that color blue.”
In her latest performance, she sang, “Dark jeans and your Nikes, you look amazing / Wow, I’ve never seen that shade of blue before.”
Besides a few small changes to Taylor Swift’s songs, the music streaming service is adding Dolby Atmos to make music sound more immersive – like it’s coming from all directions, instead of just the speakers.
Fans enjoying Taylor Swift’s latest album can also experience immersive versions of her previous albums, including Fearless, Speak Now, Red, and 1989.
Taylor recently updated her work, half a year after finally gaining ownership of the original recordings of her first six albums – a victory she’d fought for years to achieve.
In a post on her website in May, she shared that she now owns all of her music, including her videos, concert films, album artwork, and even unreleased songs. She described it as owning all the memories, the good and the bad, from every stage of her career – her entire life’s work.

While still working to regain ownership of her earlier music, the singer cleverly decided to re-record and release her first six albums as “Taylor’s Versions” – including Fearless, Speak Now, Red, and 1989. She didn’t stop there, also releasing new albums like Lover, Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, and The Tortured Poets Department. She even quickly released The Life of a Showgirl shortly after achieving a legal win.
She wrote that calling this a dream come true was actually an understatement. Her biggest goal had always been to earn enough through hard work to fully own her music – to buy it outright, without any partners or restrictions, and have complete creative control.
Now that Taylor is starting a new phase in her career, let’s remember all the moments she’s brightened and captivated us over the years.
