Among the most powerful iconic superheroes globally, Superman stands tall, yet there are other characters who possess the power to inspire, such as the cherished cast of Sesame Street. It’s rare not to find someone who hasn’t been touched by Big Bird, Elmo, Abby, or Cookie Monster in some way; they’ve been a source of joy for many years. Recently, David Corenswet (Superman) and Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane) have become part of this delightful Sesame Street team, creating what might be the cutest Justice League ever. Take a look at the photos and videos from their collaboration below!
Initially, I find myself attempting flight like Superman, yet I’m unsure how to assist others when airborne or without laser eyes. Then, Brosnahan enlightens me that heroism isn’t bound by superpowers alone. Corenswet chimes in, suggesting that external underpants might be the secret (according to him).
Elmo giggles, and Corenswet informs him that the ability to make someone laugh is like having a special power. Brosnahan gestures towards his heart and says that’s what truly counts, but Elmo misunderstands and thinks it refers to the peanut butter stain on his shirt. Brosnahan then queries Elmo if he knows what the most powerful ability is, and Elmo discloses it’s a superhero-style hug. They all embrace and decide to aid their friends, but when Brosnahan suddenly takes flight, leaving the other two bewildered.
In the second video, Corenswet hands Elmo his spectacles to demonstrate their function, and Cookie Monster greets David, but gets puzzled when he doesn’t recognize Elmo, addressing him as a monster he hasn’t encountered before. This leaves Elmo laughing, and he removes the glasses, but then David wears them instead. The confusion deepens as they swap the glasses back and forth, leaving Cookie Monster baffled.
To round off the Superman Sesame Street trio, we also see the adorable assembly of Justice League, or maybe it should be called Sesame League. But wait, let’s stick with Justice Sesame, that sounds cooler. In any case, a picture emerges featuring Corenswet alongside Abby Cadabby, Elmo, Bert, and Cookie Monster, all dressed as superheroes. Here, Abby is depicted as Wonder Woman, Bert takes on the role of Batman, Elmo becomes Green Lantern, and Cookie Monster transforms into Superman.
For a successful Sesame League, consider including characters like Wonder Abby, Batbert, Elmo Lantern, and Super Cookie. However, I also require Hawk Rosita, Telly Martian, Speedster Murray, The Terrific Count, and Super Grover, as he’s already super, so he’s a must-have in the team. As we anticipate the Sesame League debut, here’s the official description for Superman you can read below.
This summer, Warner Bros. Pictures will release ‘Superman’, DC Studios’ first film, worldwide. Directed by James Gunn, this new take on the classic superhero brings together thrilling action, humor, and emotion as Superman is portrayed as a hero driven by compassion and faith in humanity.
I’m thrilled to share that you can catch me, or rather, Superman, in theaters right now! For those who love Sesame Street, it’s currently airing on PBS and their official site, with a move to Netflix set for later this year as well.
