Fans of Black Clover have reason to celebrate! A new season of the anime is on its way, and there’s a special announcement coming soon about the future of the series. While the original manga by Yuki Tabata is finishing up, the Black Clover story isn’t over. After a long wait, the anime will return with new episodes continuing where it left off.
The anime series Black Clover previously announced it would return for a second season, but details have been scarce. That may change soon, as Black Clover has confirmed it will reveal something significant at Shueisha’s Jump Festa 2026 later this month. With half a year having passed since the initial announcement of the anime’s return, Black Clover is building anticipation for what will be shown.
What to Know for Black Clover Season 2
I’m so excited to share some amazing news! Black Clover is officially returning! It’s been half a year since the announcement of the 2nd season, and now we’re getting a Black Clover panel at Jump Festa 2026! On December 21st, 2025, at 3:10 PM at the Jump Studio Stage, you’ll be able to see Kajiwara Yuto, Shimazaki Nobunaga, Yuki Kana, and Suwabe Junichi! I have no idea what they’ll announce, but I’m already on the edge of my seat!

I’m so excited! Black Clover is officially coming back for a Season 2! We don’t know a ton yet about what’s in store or when it’ll air, but the initial announcement hinted it’ll pick up right where Season 1 left off. They haven’t confirmed who’s working on it just yet, but here’s the cool part: when it does premiere, it’ll be streaming exclusively on Crunchyroll outside of Japan! And if you need to catch up, you can already watch all 170 episodes of the first season there too!
At Jump Festa 2026 in Japan on December 21st, fans can expect updates on Black Clover! Shueisha will be showcasing several of its franchises at the event, and Black Clover is one of them. We might see new artwork, confirmation of who’s returning to work on the series, or even a sneak peek at what’s coming next – potentially a trailer. If all goes well, the series could return to screens in 2026.
What’s Next for Black Clover?

2026 could be a significant year for Black Clover. As the manga nears its conclusion, the anime will have plenty of material to finish its own story. If Black Clover gets a second season, possibly next year, it won’t have to worry about overtaking the manga because there are still two large story arcs to adapt, including everything currently happening in the final arc. This timing seems ideal for both the manga and anime.
This is particularly likely if Black Clover returns as a completely new anime series. While the original ran for almost 200 episodes as a weekly release, a second run won’t follow that format. The current labeling of it as “Season 2” suggests it will return with a more traditional seasonal structure, meaning it will be released in blocks of episodes with breaks in between. Similar to what we’ll see with One Piece next year, Black Clover will probably return with 13 to 26 episodes over the next few years before concluding the story.
