The Daredevil: Born Again series effectively connected the previous Netflix shows with the current Marvel Cinematic Universe. It also hinted at a major, intense conflict brewing for Matt Murdock and Karen Page’s city. To defeat the Kingpin, Matt and Karen will need to gather allies, and Deborah Ann Woll, who plays Karen Page, shared with ComicBook that the second season will show Karen at her most resilient, even with the difficult battles ahead.
In the first season of Born Again, Karen Page didn’t appear as often, but the later episodes revealed what she had been doing and hinted at a larger role to come. Now she’s fully involved in the central conflict, and actress Deborah Woll believes that’s where the character thrives. Woll explained that, like Matt Murdock, Karen is drawn to intense situations. She finds it hard to trust when things are calm, preferring the clarity and directness that come with chaos. According to Woll, this season finds Karen at her strongest and most determined as she faces new challenges.
Karen Page Isn’t A One Size Fits All Character, And That’s A Wonderful Thing

Although Karen wasn’t heavily involved in the first season of Born Again, she’s now the focus of the show’s biggest storyline, drawing on events from her past throughout the series. Actress Kate Woll finds this character development incredibly rewarding, and it’s led to the events unfolding in Born Again season 2.
Woll believes the first three seasons of the show were particularly strong because her character experienced a lot of internal conflict and growth. She was able to explore a wide range of emotions and motivations, questioning whether her vigilante actions were right or wrong. Woll especially enjoyed portraying this back-and-forth struggle within Karen.
Woll explained that this person doesn’t believe in a uniform approach; each situation requires a unique response. It’s rarely black and white, and careful consideration is needed every time. Unlike Matt, who tends to apply a consistent set of principles, she often encourages him to be more flexible and adapt his approach to fit the specific circumstances.
Matt and Karen are now spearheading an effort to stop Fisk and protect the city from a hidden danger. Karen will play a key role in turning this effort into a real movement.
Daredevil: Born Again is expected to release in March of 2026.
