Embark Studios is continuing to support ARC Raiders with its latest update, Cold Snap, which launches tomorrow. This update introduces a new environmental hazard – a freezing cold snap – that damages players unless they’re inside or actively healing.
The snow also makes it harder to see and creates slippery conditions, particularly on frozen lakes and rivers. When the update releases, a special event called Flickering Flames will be available to play until January 13th.
Players will collect resources to grow the Candleberry Bush and keep everyone’s spirits up. Doing so unlocks rewards like weapons, Raider Tokens, cosmetic items, and special perks. Plus, a new character called Goalie arrives on December 26th, bringing a unique outfit and even more goodies!
We’ll need to wait for the official patch notes to find out about any gameplay adjustments. ARC Raiders is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The developers at Embark are planning to add more variety to the ARCs, though they haven’t shared details about 2026 plans yet.
