Rob Reiner’s Son Arrested Following Parents’ Murder

Nick Reiner, son of the late director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, was arrested in Los Angeles and charged with murder. He is currently being held in jail without the possibility of bail.

Los Angeles police say they were called to the 200 block of South Chadbourne Avenue yesterday, December 14th, around 3:40 PM to investigate a reported death, according to a police statement.

According to the police report, officers found Robert and Michele Reiner dead inside their home. The initial investigation determined they had been murdered. Police identified their son, 32-year-old Nick Reiner, as the person responsible, and he was arrested around 9:15 PM.

According to People Magazine, the Reiners’ bodies were found by their daughter Remy.

Nick Reiner, age 32, worked with his father on the 2015 film Being Charlie. Nick co-wrote the screenplay, and his father, Rob Reiner, directed it. The movie, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, was inspired by Nick Reiner’s personal struggles with substance abuse and homelessness.

In 2016, while promoting his film Being Charlie, Nick Reiner revealed to People magazine that he experienced homelessness across the country. He explained that this happened after he chose not to enter rehab, stating, “If I wanted to do things my own way and avoid the programs they suggested, I had to live on the streets.”

People are still sharing heartfelt messages online from Rob Reiner’s friends and coworkers. Kevin Bacon, who starred with Tom Cruise in Reiner’s famous movie A Few Good Men, shared a moving tribute, explaining how significant the role was to him.

TMZ reported a heated argument between Nick and Rob Reiner at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party on Saturday. Witnesses said the argument was loud enough for others to overhear, and it happened the night before Rob and Nick Reiner were found deceased.

If you have any information about the deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner, the Los Angeles Police Department asks you to contact them at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247).

The Best Movie Posters of 2025

Bugonia

I really love this poster, even though the title is a bit difficult to decipher. The slightly unclear lettering in Bugonia makes you pause and really look at it. While you’re trying to figure it out, the striking image of a bald Emma Stone – covered in something that looks like wax or even blood – really grabs your attention and sticks with you. I’m confident I’ll remember this poster vividly long after I’ve forgotten the specifics of Bugonia itself.

Dangerous Animals

Great shark movies have always had memorable posters, and the new film Dangerous Animals fits right in. It earns extra credit for hinting at the shark without being overly dramatic. Both the poster and the tagline cleverly suggest this isn’t your average shark attack story, without revealing too much.

Die My Love

Sometimes, a great movie poster just needs a strong image of its star. The poster for Die My Love, featuring a striking photograph of Jennifer Lawrence, perfectly illustrates this idea.

Good Boy

The movie Good Boy has a fantastic idea: a horror film where the hero who survives is a dog, and the story is shown through its eyes. It’s a clever concept that’s hard to capture in a single image, but this poster does a great job of conveying it with style and artistry.

Materialists

Wow, these actors are incredibly attractive! The marketing for the movie Materialists really led me to expect something different than what I actually saw – I was honestly a little disappointed. However, I loved the poster! It makes me really want to see this film, and it got me thinking: could we remake Materialists with this same cast, but capture the energy and style of this poster?

Jay Kelly

In the film Jay Kelly, George Clooney’s character says, “All my memories are movies.” This beautiful poster visually captures that idea, making it a stunning piece of art perfectly suited for the film.

Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning

The main goal of a Mission: Impossible movie poster is to show off the incredible stunt Tom Cruise will perform in the film. The poster for The Final Reckoning definitely does that – it features him clinging to the wing of a biplane as it spins through the air! And for those who’ve seen the movie, it absolutely lives up to the poster’s promise, and then some.

The Naked Gun

Among all the humorous posters created for The Naked Gun, my favorite was the one that playfully poked fun at the overwhelming amount of poorly made AI art appearing online in 2025. It perfectly captured the spirit of a Naked Gun movie, suggesting it would maintain the same witty and absurd tone as the original ZAZ films. If ZAZ were still making these movies in 2025, this is precisely the kind of joke they’d be known for.

One Battle After Another

Paul Thomas Anderson has a devoted following, so his fans would likely see any movie he makes, regardless of how it’s marketed. Warner Bros. could have advertised his new film, One Battle After Another, with something as mundane as a phone book and still filled every theater. But the striking image of a pregnant Teyana Taylor wielding a machine gun? That definitely grabbed our attention. It went from piquing our interest to fully captivating us.

Send Help

This poster for Sam Raimi’s new horror movie is really effective. The title, Send Help, paired with the image of a blood-covered Rachel McAdams holding a knife is striking – she clearly doesn’t need rescuing! The tagline, “She’s the boss now,” immediately hints at the story, even before the trailer. It has the dark, playful humor you’d expect from a classic Raimi film. If the movie itself is as good as this poster suggests, it’s going to be fantastic.

Supergirl

The marketing for Superman featured bright, hopeful images of David Corenswet as the hero, all with the slogan “Look Up.” But the Supergirl poster—where “Look Up” has been spray-painted to say “Look Out” and Milly Alcock is enjoying a slushie—clearly signals that this movie will have a much different, more edgy feel than the Superman film.

Together

When it comes to movie posters, a surprisingly effective tactic is to create a puzzling image that immediately grabs attention. The poster for this film does just that – it presents a bizarre and intriguing scene, like Dave Franco and Alison Brie kissing with their lips fused together, leaving viewers with no choice but to watch the movie to understand what’s happening.

Tron: Ares

The detail of the lightcycle’s rear wheel forming the letter “O” in Tron is clever, but what’s truly striking is the unusual perspective. It creates the illusion that the Tron rider is speeding up a vertical wall, while the background buildings reveal they’re actually on level ground – the camera is simply tilted ninety degrees. This visually represents how Tron: Ares flips the traditional premise of the series by bringing digital characters into the real world, rather than the other way around.

Wake Up Dead Man

I think we need more movie posters showing a scene from the perspective of a coffin in an open grave.

Weapons

Large blocks of text usually don’t work well on posters, but the poster for Weapons is different. The image of children running with outstretched arms could be unclear on its own. However, the text on the poster provides crucial context, making the image both unsettling and captivating.
