Beloved pop icon on track for Christmas 2025 Number 1 with new single – ahead of Wham!’s Last Christmas

Kylie Minogue is currently the frontrunner to top the charts this Christmas, according to the Official Charts Company.

Currently, the new holiday song by the Australian pop star is selling about 7,000 copies more than Wham!’s classic, “Last Christmas.”

Although originally released in 1984, Wham!’s “Last Christmas” didn’t become a chart-topper until 2023. It then held the number one spot again in the following year.

Coming in third place, only 231 chart units behind Wham!, is the charity single ‘Lullaby’ by Together for Palestine. The song features contributions from artists like Brian Eno, Celeste, and Dan Smith from Bastille, along with many others.

All money raised from the estate will be donated to three charities run by Palestinians – the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, Taawon, and the Palestine Medical Relief Service – to help those affected by the conflict in Gaza.

The song ‘XMAS’ is popular because people are still buying physical copies, and it’s become a yearly exclusive on Amazon. This means Amazon frequently recommends it when people ask Alexa to play Christmas music.

Kylie sang the song on Strictly Come Dancing Sunday night and performed the fun, YMCA-inspired dance moves that spell out ‘XMAS’.

Even though Kylie Minogue’s album, Kylie Christmas, was number one last week, the single “XMAS” would be her first chart-topping song since “Slow” in 2003.
