PlayStation Plus is a great value for gamers, offering a lot of extras. Each month, subscribers get a few free games to keep forever, and there’s a large library of games available to play. While there are other perks, the free monthly games and the ability to play online are the main reasons PlayStation fans subscribe.
Okay, so PlayStation Plus is killing it this month! We’re getting The Outlast Trials and Killing Floor 3, which are awesome co-op games – seriously, way more people will be playing those now, and that’s a good thing. It’s super easy to round up some friends and jump in. There’s also LEGO Horizon Adventures free this month, which is cool if you missed it. It came out a while back, last fall actually, but honestly, nobody really talked about it. It was released on PC and Switch too, but it didn’t make much of a splash, so definitely grab it while it’s free!
New PS Plus Game Could Cause Issues

If you’re planning to get LEGO Horizon Adventures with your PlayStation Plus subscription, be careful – it’s easy to make a mistake. PlayStation Plus offers a game catalog similar to Xbox Game Pass, letting you download games from a library that changes over time. While this catalog requires a paid subscription (the Extra tier is the second most expensive), there are also a few games given away for free each month to all PlayStation Plus members.
There’s a problem with how LEGO Horizon Adventures is offered. It’s available both as a free monthly game and as part of the PlayStation Extra/Premium catalogs. If you’re an Extra or Premium member and claim it through the catalog, you won’t be able to keep the free version you earned, because the catalog license replaces it. PlayStation Plus Essential members (the basic tier) won’t have this issue, as they can’t access games through the catalog anyway.
To avoid problems, be sure to choose the correct game version when claiming it through PlayStation Plus. If you select the wrong version, the game might become unplayable once it’s removed from the catalog unless you buy it. This has happened with other PlayStation Plus games, and PlayStation Lifestyle has been warning about it. Unfortunately, there’s no easy fix if you claim the wrong version, and it’s unclear if PlayStation will address the issue.
