In the debut season of Peacock’s “Twisted Metal,” viewers were introduced to an extraordinarily unusual and chaotic post-apocalyptic setting—a realm that expanded upon the established universe of the renowned game franchise in manners that fans found unexpected. Yet, what set the original games apart wasn’t incorporated: a grand tournament centered around vehicular combat.
In Season 1, there was lots of vehicular conflict, culminating in an intense showdown between competitors, however, it wasn’t a tournament. Excitingly, the second season of Twisted Metal guarantees that the long-awaited tournament is now unfolding.
The narrative resumes directly from Season 1’s finale, focusing on John Doe (Anthony Mackie), who discovers he’s been inadvertently enlisted into a lethal competition orchestrated by none other than Calypso (Anthony Carrigan, last seen playing Metamorpo in the latest Superman film). The stakes? The victor gets to have any dream they desire fulfilled by Calypso.
In the upcoming tournament, John’s partner, Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz), who was tragically separated from him at the end of Season 1, will be there. Alongside her, a mix of familiar and new characters will show up, including Sweet Tooth (portrayed by Will Arnett & Joe Senoa), Dollface (Tiana Okoye), Vermin (Lisa Gilroy), Axel (Michael James Shaw), among others.
The second season of “Twisted Metal” is set to debut with a triple episode on July 31, and fresh episodes will be released weekly, every Thursday, exclusively on Peacock.
