As a huge fan of thrillers, I’m really excited about this new Showtime series, Coldwater. It’s got Andrew Lincoln – yes, Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead! – back on British TV, and he’s joined by Ewen Bremner, who I loved in Our Flag Means Death. From what I’ve heard, it’s a really dark and twisty story about an ordinary guy whose life gets completely upended when he gets mixed up with a seriously dangerous person. New episodes are dropping weekly, so I’m already hooked!

As a huge Star Trek fan, I’m really excited about Starfleet Academy! It’s a new series coming to Paramount+ and it focuses on a group of young cadets trying to make it through the Academy. We’ll see them form friendships, deal with rivalries, and experience first loves, all while being pushed to their limits by their instructors. Plus, there’s a new threat emerging that could jeopardize everything – the Academy and the Federation! The first two episodes drop on January 15th, and then new episodes will come out weekly, so it’s going to be a great start to the year for Trekkies like me.
January 20th
Handsome Devil: The Charming Killer is a new three-part documentary series on Paramount+. It explores the story of Wade Wilson, a 25-year-old Florida man arrested for the murders of two women, and how he unexpectedly gained a following on social media.
