PS3 and Xbox 360 Zombie Series From 2011 Getting New Game

The popular zombie series that first appeared on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011 is planning a new game for 2028. This timing suggests it could be one of the first games available for the next generation of consoles, likely the PS6 and the next Xbox. Given the recent success of the series’ second game in 2023, news of a third installment isn’t unexpected.

As a big fan, I’m so excited to hear that Dambuster Studios is officially working on Dead Island 3! They’re aiming for a 2028 release, which is still a ways off, so things could change. But it’s good to remember that Dead Island 2 had a really rough development, switching studios a bunch of times. Thankfully, once Dambuster Studios took over, things went much smoother. Hopefully, that means we won’t see the same kind of delays with this new game!

Dead Island 3 Release Date

Dambuster Studios is currently planning to release the game in 2028, ideally during the first six months of the year. While there’s still a lot of development work to be done, narrowing the release window to the first half of 2028 suggests the team is reasonably confident. However, this is just an estimate at this point.

Dead Island Sale

With the release of the third game approaching, the first two Dead Island games are currently available on Steam at their all-time lowest prices. Dead Island 2 is on sale for just $4.99, and the original Dead Island is even cheaper at $1.99. You can also find discounts on DLC, special editions, and spin-off titles, but these deals are mainly limited to Steam. However, Dead Island 2 might become even more affordable or offered for free through subscription services before the third game comes out, so there’s no need to buy it right away unless you’re eager to play.
