The anime adaptation of My Hero Academia recently finished its main storyline with the final season, but the series isn’t over yet. Fans have been experiencing a mix of emotions since the conclusion, marking the end of a long and beloved journey. Based on Kohei Horikoshi’s popular manga, which originally ran in Weekly Shonen Jump, the anime first premiered in April 2016 and quickly gained fans worldwide with its creative powers and engaging story. The manga concluded last August, and the anime brought that story to a satisfying end with the heroes’ hard-fought victory in the Final War against All For One and Tomura Shigaraki. The series also includes a short epilogue showing what happens after the war, and how the heroes continue to grow as professional heroes.
Next year marks the 10th anniversary of the anime, and fans have a lot to look forward to, as revealed at Jump Festa 2026. Jump Festa is a major annual event for anime and manga, and it always features exciting news about series published in Shueisha’s magazines like Weekly Shonen Jump, Jump Square, V Jump, Saikyo Jump, and the Shonen Jump+ online platform. This year’s event kicked off on December 20th with a presentation for My Hero Academia. To share details about the anniversary and upcoming projects, a new website has been launched.
My Hero Academia Teases More 10th Anniversary Projects in The Future

A new key visual showcasing Deku’s evolution throughout the series was revealed, along with exciting news for fans. Composer Yuki Hayashi, who has created over 200 songs for the anime, will be honored with a special concert starting in Japan on May 30th, 2026, followed by an international tour. But the biggest surprise was the announcement of a special new anime episode, set to premiere globally on May 2nd, 2026.
The special episode, called “More,” is based on chapter 431 of the manga, which takes place after the main story ends. This extra chapter was originally included in the final volume of the manga and shows what happened with the students of Class 1-A, the Big Three, and the pro heroes after the timeskip. It focuses mainly on Ochako Uraraka and reveals their current hero rankings as they all get together.
The special episode will launch globally on Crunchyroll, which also has all previous seasons available to watch. We haven’t seen a preview or image of the episode yet. Crunchyroll has hinted at at least two more announcements coming soon, and possibly even more. With a few months still to go before the anniversary, we might hear these updates in the first three months of next year.
