The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas always feels so long, and it’s usually hard to focus on work with all the holiday excitement. But this year, Netflix is making it even more difficult! They’ve decided to release the final season of Stranger Things in three volumes, starting the night before Thanksgiving. The second volume won’t be available until Christmas Day, and it’s shorter than previous releases – only three episodes instead of four. Plus, it’s almost guaranteed to end with a frustrating cliffhanger, leaving viewers wanting more.
Netflix is well aware of its popularity, and while some of their decisions regarding Stranger Things have caused concern, not all of them are negative. For example, last night during a performance of the Stranger Things: The First Shadow play in New York City, Jamie Campbell Bower – who plays Vecna – unexpectedly stepped in to finish the show, taking over for Louis McCartney in the final scene.

Jamie Campbell Bower had played the scene before – it’s when Dr. Brenner introduces Henry Creel, also known as One, to Eleven. But this was the first time he’d performed it live in front of an audience. It went incredibly well, and the crowd was ecstatic when they recognized him as the original Henry Creel.
Bower probably just wanted to generate some buzz with his Broadway performance, but his debut might actually contain a deeper meaning. After all, The First Shadow isn’t a random, unrelated production – it’s connected to the main storyline.
Stranger Things Wants You to Know How Important The First Shadow Is Going to Be in Part 2

The story of The First Shadow centers on Henry’s teenage years in Hawkins, Indiana. He deals with typical high school issues like being bullied and falling in love. Patty Newby, a classmate who understands him, becomes a close friend. However, Brenner threatens to ruin their connection as he manipulates Henry. The series culminates in a showdown between Brenner and Henry during a school play organized by Joyce Byers.
The beginning of Stranger Things Season 5 highlights how crucial the events of The First Shadow are. Max briefly experiences Henry’s memories, which takes her to Hawkins High School. Although she doesn’t uncover much during this trip, she still has a chance to figure things out. Hopefully, Joyce and the others will come to the same realizations and discover a way to use this information to defeat Vecna before he destroys Hawkins—and the world.
Stranger Things is streaming on Netflix.
