Jake Paul Suffers Broken Jaw After Fight Against Anthony Joshua

Jake Paul’s heavyweight fight against Anthony Joshua was a total knockout.

As a lifestyle expert, I have to say the boxing match between the Youtuber and former heavyweight champ was quite the event! It all went down in Miami on December 19th, and they were scheduled for an eight-round fight. But it didn’t last that long – Anthony landed a knockout punch right to Jake’s jaw, ending the match early. It was a pretty decisive finish, to say the least!

In an Instagram post on December 20th, the 28-year-old shared an X-ray revealing a double jaw fracture. Despite the injury, he stated he wants to fight Canelo in 10 days.

Oh my gosh, you can see it so clearly in the picture! There are these awful breaks, right on both sides of his jaw – they’ve even circled them in red, like they’re trying to point out exactly how bad it is. It’s just… heartbreaking to look at, but I can’t look away.

Jake Paul, the social media star who famously defeated Mike Tyson in a boxing match last year, shared a funny video from his hospital bed. He lip-synced to a comedic audio clip, and his brother, Logan Paul, joined in by playfully nodding along.

Jake slurred his words, appearing very intoxicated, and asked, “Will you take care of me always?”

Despite a serious injury, the Bizaardvark actor—who is engaged to Olympic athlete Jutta Leerdam—wanted to let his fans know he’d be okay.

As he wrote in the caption of the video, “broken jaw guys thanks for all the support I’m ok.”

Anthony, age 36, won the highly anticipated match, but afterwards he praised Jake and offered some advice.

After the match, Anthony acknowledged Jake’s performance but emphasized that fighting is as much mental as it is physical. He explained that he had warned Jake he would eventually break him down, forcing him to either quit or be defeated by knockout. “I told Jake I’d reach a point where I’d take his spirit,” Anthony said.

The British boxer explained, “If you don’t have that natural fighting sense, you’ll never truly be skilled.”

That being said, Anthony gave Jake a pat on the back for getting into the ring at all.

Anthony acknowledged Jake’s courage and determination throughout the fight. He praised Jake for having the guts to step into the ring with him, noting that many fighters wouldn’t have. Even after being knocked down, Jake kept trying to get back up, which Anthony greatly respected.

But Jake isn’t the only star who has experienced a health scare lately. Keep reading for more…

Nikki Bella, known from Total Bellas, shared that one of her breast implants moved after being hit during the elbow of fellow wrestler Piper Niven in a match that took place in July 2025.

She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, that they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that once her divorce was finalized and she retired from her current job, she would return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best. She wanted to be sure things were in good shape for future opportunities, and didn’t want them to appear neglected.

Let me tell you, dealing with health issues while also achieving big dreams is something I see a lot. Back in 2014, the same year she took home an Oscar for 12 Years a Slave, a wonderful actress I admire received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids. These are non-cancerous growths that can develop in or around the uterus, and it’s something many women experience. It just goes to show you can be at the top of your game and still navigate personal health challenges.

Looking back, it’s so powerful to see vulnerability embraced. It wasn’t until 2025 that she finally shared her health journey with the world, opening up on Instagram about more than ten years of quiet struggle. It really resonated with me – so many of us keep things hidden for so long, and her honesty was incredibly brave.

She explained that girls are often taught to expect period pain as a normal part of growing up and being female. This leaves many of us dealing with a common issue in silence and feeling isolated.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she had been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap in her abdominal muscles.

She messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “You haven’t tweeted in ages!” Then, jokingly, she added, “Have you ever thought maybe I wore pants so tight six months ago that I got a hernia and I’ve been too afraid to mention it?”

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery to fix a nearly ruptured appendix.

Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained he had a perforated appendix – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to doing so.

He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

A Racing Louisville midfielder fell to the ground early in her team’s game against Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle.

According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player sat down on the field with a teammate supporting her, and then quickly collapsed. Trainers were called to assess her condition.

After receiving initial treatment from medical staff at the game, Savannah was taken to a nearby hospital for more tests. League officials reported she was in stable condition and fully conscious.

Adam Devine revealed that injuries from being hit by a cement truck at age 11 still cause him problems today.

“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I’ve been experiencing spasms all over my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation—within the last year, actually.”

He explained that his pain is intermittent, saying, “My body has a few quirks and isn’t quite perfect.”

A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He described being in so much pain that he had to crawl on his hands and knees, and the pain worsened during a recent RV trip with a friend.

He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes during a March 2025 episode of his podcast, Trading Secrets. He explained that just a few weeks or a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he can’t even do a squat or stand on one leg without falling. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Gina Kirschenheiter from The Real Housewives of Orange County revealed that her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack in March 2025, but he is now doing okay.

In March 2025, the actor from 30 Rock experienced a medical issue at a New York Knicks game and had to be taken out of Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair.

The comedian later posted on social media to explain that he hadn’t been feeling well due to food poisoning, but was now recovering.

In February 2025, the former Even Stevens star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday celebration for her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a clay pigeon shooting trip when the incident occurred.

In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party who fired a gun unsafely. Brendan Rooney quickly helped her, checked her injuries, and drove her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet narrowly missed her right eye by less than an inch.

It’s been a bit scary lately, but I wanted to share what’s been going on with my health. Apparently, a small piece of something got stuck behind my eye, and the doctors are worried that trying to remove it with surgery right now could cause more problems. Thankfully, I can still see perfectly fine, and they’re going to keep a close watch on things to see if it changes. I’m staying positive and trusting the medical team!

The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving a frightening experience. She shared her deep love for her daughters, husband, family, and friends, and urged everyone to cherish their loved ones. “I realized how quickly things can change,” she explained, “so hug the people you care about whenever you can.”

I’m such a fan of Amy Schumer, and I was really fascinated by her story about how the internet actually helped her! She was doing press and people started commenting on her face looking ‘puffy,’ and honestly, she just asked everyone to calm down. But then, amazingly, doctors started commenting, seriously concerned! They thought she might have Cushing syndrome because of how her face looked, and she was shocked to be ‘trolled’ by medical professionals! It made her realize she’d been getting steroid injections after her breast reduction and C-section, which could be causing it. She said she never would have figured it out without all the attention online. Thankfully, she recently shared that she has a form of Cushing syndrome that will resolve on its own, and she’s healthy – which is the best news ever! I’m so glad she’s okay and that something good came out of it all.

In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald told ESPN how grateful they were, saying, “We feel very lucky, and I wouldn’t want any parent to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly began to have stroke-like symptoms, struggling to speak and noticing her face drooping. Although her symptoms briefly subsided, she went to the hospital for evaluation. Doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further testing at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to reach her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey successfully underwent a procedure to close the hole in her heart and is now recovering well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also went through a difficult time. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.

In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on one side. He also shared that it was becoming increasingly difficult to eat. Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away.

Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better. She described the situation as scary and unexpected, but expressed her relief that he was going to be okay.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the serious health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had previously kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, Foxx explained that he suffered a severe headache one day and then lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the following 20 days.

Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, became worried and took him to the hospital. Doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that caused a stroke.

After surgery, it took twenty days for Foxx to regain consciousness. When he woke up on May 4th, he was in a wheelchair and unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for extensive rehabilitation and therapy.

Foxx expressed his gratitude for the prayers he received, saying, “I needed every prayer.”

The reality TV star said she briefly stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC show.

She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, she remembers only darkness, followed by light, leading her to realize she had died that day.

She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially starts to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the series, she experienced a sudden, severe headache while at the gym. She described becoming violently ill and realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.

A hospital scan quickly revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She immediately underwent surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she struggled with aphasia, leaving her unable to speak coherently.

After a week, her speech returned, and she was discharged from the hospital a month later. However, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown, requiring a second surgery. This procedure was unsuccessful, leading to a major bleed and putting her life at risk. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.

Fortunately, Emilia reports she has now made a full recovery and is at 100%.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always inspired by stories of resilience, and Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, is a perfect example. She recently shared her health journey with me, and it’s truly moving. Back in January 2024, Cori suffered a stroke, and she immediately reached out to her family. Thankfully, they rallied around her instantly. She told me everyone came to her rescue, which is a testament to the power of family. Her hospital stay ended up being longer than expected, as she was also dealing with lupus and kidney issues on top of recovering from the stroke. But the good news is, Cori is doing fantastic now! She’s been working on regaining some motor skills, and overall, she’s feeling great. It just goes to show you, with the right support and a positive attitude, you can overcome anything.

Shailene Woodley struggled with her health throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she explained that she experienced hearing loss, debilitating fatigue, and digestive issues. She saw many doctors but received conflicting diagnoses.

Because she comes from a holistic background and studies herbalism, Woodley sought help from both traditional doctors and alternative healers, hoping to find relief and understand what was happening.

The search for answers took ten years. During that time, her physical discomfort led to anxiety around food and, eventually, body image issues and a struggle with her identity.

Ultimately, Woodley was able to resolve her health problems and is now feeling very well. She expressed happiness and gratitude for her recovery.
