King Charles III and Queen Camilla gave Washington, D.C., the royal treatment.
The royal couple was a guest of honor at a state dinner hosted by President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the White House on April 28th.
For the event, Camilla wore a vibrant pink gown by Fiona Clare, with delicate embroidery on the bodice and a flowing, pleated skirt. She accessorized with a stunning amethyst and diamond necklace—originally owned by Queen Victoria and part of the historic Kent Amethyst Demi-Parure collection, which was created in 1818.
Melania chose a pink outfit, wearing a flowing, one-shoulder Dior gown in a soft blush color. The dress featured elegant draping, and she completed the look with white suede Dior gloves.
Both King Charles, age 77, and President Trump, 79, chose traditional black tuxedos with white bow ties.
Charles and Camilla started their official visit on April 27th to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States declaring its independence from the United Kingdom during the Revolutionary War.
According to a Royal Family Instagram post on March 31st, the upcoming visit will highlight the long-standing ties and current relationship between the U.K. and the U.S.
King Charles made history during his recent state visit by becoming only the second British monarch to speak to a joint meeting of the U.S. Congress, delivering his address on April 28th. This significant event happened 35 years after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, addressed Congress in 1991.

Despite any disagreements, we are all united in our dedication to democracy, protecting our citizens, and honoring the bravery of those who serve and risk their lives for our nations, Charles stated to Congress.
The king had a meeting with the president in the Oval Office. Meanwhile, the queen and the first lady spent time with students, who were exploring American and British history using virtual reality and AI glasses.

In October 1951, Princess Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip, traveled to the United States for their first official visit – just three months before she became Queen.
Because the White House was being renovated, President Harry S. Truman and his family welcomed the royal couple at Blair House, the president’s guest residence.
I remember reading about how, when I met President Truman with my husband, I told him that even though Washington D.C. was beautiful, a short visit to just the capital city could never truly give you a feel for a country as amazing as this one. I was only 25 at the time, and I felt so strongly about that!
She continued, explaining that so much of American history has unfolded here, and so many monuments to the nation’s accomplishments are located here, that she hoped to learn more about the roots of America’s strength before she departed.
During her 70 years as Queen, Elizabeth visited the United States eight times. Her last visit was in May 2007 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in America. She and Prince Philip were hosted by President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush at the White House.

In June 2011, just two months after Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding in April, the couple traveled to the United States for their first official trip, spending three days in Los Angeles.
You know, during our recent trip, Kate and I had the pleasure of wrapping things up at a job fair for veterans. It was truly heartwarming to feel so welcomed in California, especially in Los Angeles! We just wanted to express our sincere gratitude to everyone for the warm reception – it meant a lot to us.

King Charles III will visit the U.S. in April 2026. It’s been over ten years since his last trip, which was with President Barack Obama in March 2015 when he was still Prince Charles. During that visit, he and Queen Camila spent time in Washington, D.C., and Louisville, Kentucky.

Long before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to California, he visited the United States alone for a week. The trip, which happened almost seven years prior to their move, included stops in Washington D.C., Colorado, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Prince Amadeo and his wife, Elisabetta Maria Rosboch von Wolkenstein, have been living in Switzerland since 2017. Before that, the Prince lived in New York City from 2009 to 2014, where he worked as a business analyst and got his MBA from Columbia University. He moved back to Belgium after he and Elisabetta got married in 2014.

Like her sister, Beatrice moved to New York City in 2015 and eventually became Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at the software company Afiniti. She continues to work there, regularly traveling between the U.S. and the U.K.

As a lifestyle expert, I always find fascinating stories about those who’ve shaped our culture. Take Prince Egon von Fürstenberg, for instance. He and his wife, Diane von Furstenberg, made a real splash when they moved to New York City back in 1969. His parents were quite prominent too – Prince Tassilo von Fürstenberg and Clara Agnelli. It was a truly glamorous family making their mark on a new world!
Oh my gosh, he was just everything. After marrying Diane in ’69, he really blossomed, and when he moved to Milan in ’77 to dedicate himself to his design work, I was completely captivated! But even then, he wasn’t just some recluse; he was still the life of the party, moving through the most glamorous circles all through the ’80s. I followed his every move!

In 1972, when Thai princess married American Peter Ladd Jensen, her father, King Bhumibol Adulyadej, disapproved and removed her royal title as a result.
Following her divorce from Peter in 1998, Ubol returned to Thailand with her three children and began fulfilling her royal obligations again. Though she never officially regained her royal title, she became involved in politics and ran for Prime Minister of Thailand in 2019. Ultimately, Prayut Chan-o-cha won the election.
