An EA game that was released 12 years ago has been removed from digital stores without any announcement. Players can still enjoy the game for now, but that will change on March 19, 2026, when the game’s servers will be turned off, making it completely unplayable. While the game is still available until then, players won’t be able to make any new in-app purchases, though any existing in-game currency can still be used until the March deadline.
The EA game being removed is actually a mobile title called Real Racing 3, first released in 2013 by Firemonkeys Studios. It was a sequel to Real Racing (2009) and Real Racing 2 (2010). While PC and console gamers might not be familiar with the series, it was once very popular on iOS and Android, which explains its long run until 2025 or 2026. The reason for its removal isn’t officially stated, only described as an “emotional decision.” It’s likely due to licensing issues and the cost of maintaining servers exceeding the revenue from in-app purchases—though this is just an educated guess, as the game is free to play.
Statement
We’ve decided to stop supporting Real Racing 3. The game will be removed from app stores on December 18, 2025, but you’ll still be able to play until March 19, 2026. After that date, the game servers will shut down and it will no longer be accessible.
The announcement also said that all purchases within the app are now turned off. You’ll have until March 19, 2026, to spend any coins or gems you’ve already earned. Ending the game was a difficult decision, but the team is thankful for the incredible twelve years and all the support from players. The entire team and all our partners want to say thank you!
Lately, many EA games have been removed from sale or completely shut down, and you might feel like you’ve seen this happen before. Just recently, another one of their major console games was taken offline.
