New Shonen Jump Anime to Debut in 2026 After the Manga’s End (New Trailer Revealed)

Shonen Jump is reviving a popular but overlooked series with a brand new anime. The manga concluded earlier this year, and fans are now getting a first glimpse of the anime’s return, scheduled for Spring 2026. Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has seen significant changes recently, resulting in the conclusion of almost 15 different series. Some of these series ended prematurely, while others enjoyed successful runs and reached their natural conclusions.

Tadatoshi Fujimaki’s Kill Blue recently concluded its run in Shonen Jump but will continue as an anime series. Announced at Shueisha’s Jump Festa 2026, the official anime adaptation is scheduled to premiere in April 2026. A new trailer and poster with more details have been released and are available to view below.

What to Know for Kill Blue Anime

The anime series Kill Blue is set to debut in April 2026, though the exact release date and where it will be available for streaming internationally are still unknown. Hiro Kaburagi, known for his work on Great Pretender and Kimi ni Todoke, is directing the series, with animation handled by CUE. Miho Daidoji, who worked on Kuroko’s Basketball and Kimi ni Todoke 3rd Season, is designing the characters. Along with a new trailer and poster, additional voice actors have also been announced.

Shunsuke Takeuchi, who will voice adult Juzo Ogami, is joined by Yuko Sanpei as young Juzo, Fuka Izumi as Noren Mitsuoka, Shuichiro Umeda as Kotatsu Nekota, Takeo Otsuka as Tenma Tendo, Atsumi Tanezaki as Chisato Shiraishi, and Yumi Uchiyama as Eri Wanibuchi. Series creator Tadatoshi Fujimaki also expressed his enthusiasm for the new anime and shared a message with fans at Jump Festa 2026.

Kill Blue’s Creator Is Excited for the New Anime

Tadatoshi announced that KILL BLUE is finally being adapted into an anime! He playfully admitted that saying ‘finally’ might be a little dramatic. He described the series as always intended to be a light and easy read, assuring fans it won’t be filled with typical dark fantasy elements like demons or monsters. However, he added a thoughtful note: just because something is enjoyable and simple doesn’t mean it was easy to create.

Tadatoshi also explained that KILL BLUE might seem lighthearted and easy to watch, but a lot of hard work went into making it. The talented team and cast are giving it their all to create a fun and enjoyable anime. He hopes viewers will be as excited about it as they would be for a new flavor of their favorite snack, and thanks everyone for their support. They hope you enjoy the KILL BLUE anime!
