If you’re looking for something to watch during the holidays, Netflix has some excellent options! They consistently release great content around Christmastime, and this year is no exception, with new seasons of popular and highly-rated shows. Along with fantastic movies like Frankenstein, Wake Up Dead Man, and Jay Kelly, settling in for a TV binge is a perfect way to enjoy your time off.
Many families find themselves watching TV during the holidays, and Netflix is a popular choice. With so many shows to choose from, here are seven that are especially great to watch this Christmas. They’ve either recently released new episodes or are currently trending, making them perfect for a festive binge – and some even have more seasons planned for 2026 and beyond!
7) Emily in Paris

Okay, so Emily in Paris definitely got a bit of a mixed reaction when it first came out in 2020 – some people thought the way it portrayed Parisians and French culture was a little cliché. But honestly, five years later, it’s still going! It’s kind of ironic, but Season 5 is actually taking Emily (Lily Collins) to Italy for more European fun, and it’s dropping on Netflix right before Christmas on December 18, 2025 – perfect for some holiday binge-watching. A lot of people think the show has overstayed its welcome, but I’m hoping this new Italian setting will breathe some fresh life into it. I’m curious to see where they take it!
6) The Beast in Me

If you’re looking for a shorter series to watch during the holidays, consider The Beast in Me instead of Emily in Paris. This eight-episode psychological thriller follows an author who becomes fascinated with her neighbor, who is suspected of murdering his wife. While The Beast in Me premiered on Netflix on November 13th and has drawn a large audience and positive reviews for its suspenseful plot, strong acting, and beautiful cinematography, it hasn’t generated a lot of buzz.
5) A Man on the Inside

Season two of Michael Schur’s comedy, A Man on the Inside, arrived on Netflix on November 20, 2025, and seamlessly picked up where the first season left off with its blend of humor, suspense, and intriguing mystery. Ted Danson is fantastic as Charles Nieuwendyk, the former professor now working as a private investigator, who’s investigating a laptop theft at Wheeler College after his previous case at Pacific View. If you enjoyed A Man on the Inside, you might be interested in the 2020 documentary that inspired the show, The Mole Agent, which reveals the surprisingly true story behind the comedy.
4) Nobody Wants This

Kristen Bell, known for her roles in shows like The Good Place and Big Mouth, stars alongside Adam Brody in the romantic comedy Nobody Wants This. The show centers on Joanne Williams (Bell), a podcast host who explores relationships, as she unexpectedly falls for Noah Roklov (Brody), a rabbi with a different outlook on life. It’s a touching story that looks at both love and faith. With season 2 having premiered in late 2025 and season 3 coming in 2026, the holidays are a great time to catch up on all 20 existing episodes.
3) The Abandons

If you enjoy Western dramas, The Abandons is a great choice for holiday viewing. This series, set in the 1850s, focuses on the clashes between outlaw gangs in the Old West, with Fiona Nolan (played by Lena Headey) as a central figure. Though it’s not Netflix’s biggest hit, its concise seven episodes make it perfect to watch shortly after its December 4th release. The show boasts a fantastic cast including Lena Headey, Gillian Anderson, Nick Robinson, and others, even if the storyline occasionally falls short.
2) Black Doves

After its release on December 5, 2024, Black Doves quickly became a popular hit on Netflix. With a second season already confirmed, now’s a great time to catch up on this thrilling action series starring Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw. The show centers around the Black Doves, a secret spy organization that recovers sensitive information for anyone who can afford it, and follows Helen (Knightley) after her cover is compromised. Black Doves is fast-paced, full of action, and immediately grabs your attention – it’s a must-see!
1) Stranger Things

Everyone will be talking about the final season of Stranger Things over the 2025 holidays. The first four episodes have already been released, with another four coming on Christmas Day and a feature-length finale on New Year’s Eve. Over the past ten years, Stranger Things has become a hugely popular and critically praised show, launching the careers of its young cast and becoming one of Netflix’s most important series. Before the final episodes air, there are 38 episodes of the Duffer brothers’ sci-fi hit to enjoy, all leading up to what promises to be a spectacular conclusion.
