Taylor Swift Teases New Music in End of an Era Docuseries

This empire belongs to Taylor Swift—and it’s only getting bigger.

Oh my gosh, you guys, the last episode of her Disney+ docuseries, ‘End of an Era,’ just dropped, and it was EVERYTHING! She was celebrating her new album, which is already on repeat for me, but the BEST part? She hinted she’s already starting work on the NEXT one! Seriously, does she ever sleep? I’m already counting down the days!

The final episode of the series, which aired on December 23rd, revealed that Taylor will release her twelfth studio album on October 3, 2025. The announcement described it as her biggest album yet.

But after a beat or two, the title card adds at the end of the statement, “To date.”

Taylor Swift has definitely established herself as a lasting force in the music industry – it seems her career will go on forever.

Taylor explained on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that some people greatly admire artists with long careers, while others feel it’s time for new voices and want to focus on celebrating past achievements. She described it as a divide between those who appreciate longevity and those who want to move on.

To which Taylor shrugged, “I don’t want to.”

After releasing her newest album, the artist—who has won 14 Grammy Awards—dismissed rumors that she planned to slow down her career now that she’s engaged to Travis Kelce.

Taylor expressed strong disapproval of a recent comment, stating in an October interview on BBC Radio 2 that she appreciates her partner’s support for her work and the joy she finds in creating art.

Even while incredibly tired from The Eras Tour, Taylor found motivation only in starting her next creative endeavor.

I was so happy to hear her say it on the August 13th New Heights episode – she just really loves it! She emphasized how much, and then shared that music is a big part of why. It was great to hear her express that passion!

Taylor found inspiration in the album The Life of a Showgirl. She remembered a demanding schedule of performing three shows consecutively, followed by just three days off, which she’d often spend traveling back and forth to Sweden while on tour.

Even though the tour was incredibly demanding, Taylor explained that she felt mentally energized and thrilled to be performing, despite being physically tired.

The first episode of The End of an Era featured Taylor Swift discussing the cancellation of her August 2024 concerts in Vienna, Austria, due to a terror threat. Two men were arrested for allegedly planning the attack.

Taylor described a frightening series of incidents on tour, saying they narrowly avoided a dangerous and potentially deadly situation. She admitted she’s been feeling overwhelmed and scattered as a result.

This event happened shortly after a tragic incident in Southport, England, where three children died during a dance class celebrating Taylor Swift’s music.

An emotional Taylor shared through tears, “I have a hard time explaining it.”

After the tragic event, Taylor met privately with those who survived the Southport attack and with their families, holding these meetings behind the scenes at her concerts in Wembley.

In the docuseries, Taylor and her mother, Andrea Swift, were both seen crying after a conversation. Andrea told Taylor, “I know you helped them. It might not feel like it, but I know you did.”

Taylor was very nervous before performing at Wembley Stadium, especially after the recent tragic events.

“I just need to do this show,” she told pal Ed Sheeran backstage, “remember the joy of it.”

Taylor went on to explain that after she wraps up her Wembley concerts she’ll have two months off.

She told Ed she needed to disappear, to find a place where no one could locate her. She explained she felt like she was being constantly watched and pursued, and simply wanted to escape that feeling.

I was so thrilled to read in The End of an Era that Taylor personally gave bonuses to everyone working on the tour – every single crew member, dancer, and musician – after each leg wrapped up! It just proves what a genuinely incredible person she is and how much she appreciates her team. It really warmed my heart to hear!

Taylor emphasized the importance of ‘bonus day,’ explaining that establishing a positive pattern with The Eras Tour was a priority for her.

She explained that crew members receive larger bonuses when the tour is financially successful. She really appreciates their hard work and talent, and personally wrote a handwritten note to every single person on the crew – a process that took a couple of weeks, but she enjoyed.

And Taylor was on hand to deliver those notes, which brought her team to tears.

Even when Travis Kelce wasn’t with Taylor at the concerts, he was like other fans, searching online for information about The Eras Tour.

Travis told Taylor in a heartwarming phone call before her concerts in Wembley that he really wanted to attend and would be searching online to find a way to be there.

While putting The Eras Tour together, Taylor turned to a longtime pal for guidance.

I needed a choreographer, so I asked my friend, Emma Stone – she’s done a lot of dancing in movies – for recommendations. Taylor said Emma immediately suggested Mandy Moore, saying she was the only person to consider.

Mandy Moore, a choreographer and a different person than the actress with the same name, collaborated with Emma on the 2016 film La La Land.

To prevent setlist spoilers, like the surprise appearance of Florence Welch during “Florida!!!”, Taylor Swift and her band would lower the volume during rehearsals. They practiced “quietly” to keep fans waiting outside the stadiums from overhearing the music.

Taylor explained in the second episode of the docuseries, “Magic of the Eras,” that keeping surprises under wraps is exhausting. “Honestly, just thinking about it makes me want to take a nap!” she said. “But seeing it all come together and successfully surprising everyone makes it totally worth the effort.”
