Most fantasy shows don’t last very long, especially those that finish their stories on their own terms. While shows like Supernatural are exceptions, reaching over 10 seasons, even popular series such as Game of Thrones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and The Vampire Diaries typically run for about 7 or 8 seasons. However, the upcoming adaptation of Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere universe by Apple TV has the potential to be a major hit and could even last for over a decade – potentially into the 2040s – thanks to the sheer amount of source material available.
I’ve been watching the anime world explode in popularity lately, and it feels like it’s become a major part of mainstream entertainment. Crunchyroll is definitely the biggest name for streaming anime, constantly adding tons of new shows each season. But it’s interesting to see other platforms like Hulu and HIDIVE getting in on the action too. They’re bringing over a lot of older anime – some are a few years old, and others are genuine classics that people have maybe forgotten about. It’s a shame, because these older shows really demonstrate how diverse and artistic anime can be, but they often get lost in the shuffle due to a lack of promotion and aren’t as well-known as newer titles.
As a huge fan of Invincible, I have to say episode 4 of season 4, “Hurm,” was a bit of a departure. It told a story completely new to the show – not based on the comics at all – focusing on Mark Grayson’s time with Damien Darkblood in Hell. Sadly, it didn’t really resonate with a lot of us fans. It currently has a 6.5/10 on IMDb, making it the lowest-rated episode so far. But the good news is, creator Robert Kirkman isn’t letting that stop him from introducing original storylines into the series in the future, which I think is a great idea!
