Serena Williams Reacts to Sister Venus Williams’ Andrea Preti Wedding

It’s love-all for Serena Williams.

Tennis star Serena Williams publicly expressed her love and admiration for her sister, Venus Williams, who recently married actor Andrea Preti. The couple celebrated their wedding over five days in Florida.

Serena Williams shared heartfelt congratulations to her sister Venus on Instagram, posting photos from the wedding. She wrote about their journey together, from practicing in their backyard to achieving success on the world stage, praising Venus’s grace, strength, and kindness. Serena described watching Venus begin this new chapter of her life, surrounded by love, as a beautiful and hopeful experience.

She went on to say, “You’ve always been like a best friend who’s always there for me – someone I could rely on to protect me, teach me, and keep me focused on what matters. Seeing you so happy and loved truly makes my heart full.”

Raising a glass to love, their partnership, and a lifetime of shared joy, the 44-year-old expressed immense pride in standing by their partner, not just on this special day, but for all the days to come.

Serena Williams, married to Alexis Ohanian since 2017, stood with her friend as she got married to Andrea, age 37. Serena even hosted a yacht party for the couple during the wedding celebrations in Palm Beach, Florida.

Venus recently told Vogue that their celebration began on Monday. Serena surprised them with a beautiful yacht and took care of all the arrangements, including the food. They spent the day with about 10 to 12 of their nearest and dearest, who were visiting, and enjoyed singing, dancing, chatting, and spending quality time together.

Before Venus and Andrea’s simple courthouse wedding, they celebrated with a fun-filled series of events. These included a glamorous, Beyoncé-themed lip sync battle at a boudoir-inspired bridal shower, a daytime pool party, a cozy family dinner, and even a playful sports day.

“It was absolutely magical – beautiful, peaceful, special, and incredibly joyful,” Venus shared, recalling her private wedding to Andrea in Italy on September 18th. “It felt like a dream come true.”
