After a long wait, Wonder Woman and Batman are finally teaming up in the Absolute Universe! This universe has always been a harsher, more challenging place than the main DC Universe. Here, heroes have lost connections to their families, friends, and everything that usually supports them. While being a hero isn’t easy anywhere, figures like Superman and the Flash face even bigger obstacles in a world that seems determined to stop them from doing good. However, even with the odds stacked against them, two heroes have risen above the challenges and become true champions for the people.
Wonder Woman was the first hero to bravely defend Gateway City, stopping the Tetracide from causing global destruction. Batman has become a similar symbol of hope in Gotham, fighting against the corruption that’s destroying it. Because of their actions, powerful forces are now trying to eliminate both heroes. However, Wonder Woman and Batman’s first partnership proves that even when things seem impossible, hope can still exist.

Absolute Wonder Woman #15 is Everything Fans Were Hoping For

In Absolute Wonder Woman #15, by Kelly Thompson and Hayden Sherman, Wonder Woman continues her investigation from the previous issue, pursuing a mysterious symbol linked to a series of murders in Gotham. This leads her to team up with Batman, and the two heroes surprisingly find they work well together, with Batman accompanying Wonder Woman to the latest crime scene. Unbeknownst to them, this is a trap set by their enemies, Veronica Cale and the Joker, who are attempting to manipulate and control Wonder Woman.
Batman and Wonder Woman’s search for answers leads them to a dangerous ritual that affects Wonder Woman, forcing her to fight Batman in a fierce battle. Batman manages to free Wonder Woman from a spell using a magical item. Although their investigation doesn’t reveal what they were looking for, Wonder Woman and Batman resolve their differences and remain friends. Diana realizes they’re stronger as a team and proposes they begin collaborating with other heroes in the future.
Absolute Wonder Woman #15 is More Than a Team-Up, It’s a Message of Hope

Look, Kelly Thompson and Hayden Sherman are a fantastic creative duo, and I was thrilled to see them tackle such a huge event in the Absolute Universe. As the first-ever crossover featuring two of its biggest stars, this comic had a lot riding on it. It needed to nail the personalities of both heroes, deliver a gripping story, pack a punch with the action, and look amazing doing it. And honestly? Absolute Wonder Woman #15 absolutely delivers on all fronts. It’s a truly satisfying read.
I was really impressed by Hayden Sherman’s artwork in this issue. The artist had a fantastic range of visuals to work with, including Diana’s striking green Bat-Signal and the dynamic fight between Batman and Wonder Woman. The page layouts are exceptionally well-done and imaginative. Bruce Wayne is portrayed with the same powerful energy as in Absolute Batman, but there’s also a surprising tenderness that beautifully balances his dynamic with Diana. Even quiet moments, like Batman and Wonder Woman simply talking in the snow, are visually captivating.
This first team-up between Wonder Woman and Batman had a lot to live up to, and Kelly Thompson delivered a fantastic story. It acknowledges the grim reality of the Absolute Universe we’ve seen developing, refusing to offer easy solutions simply because these two heroes have connected. Instead, it suggests that even in the darkest times, companionship and connection can keep hope flickering.
I’ve noticed readers are connecting with the Absolute Universe because its villain-led world feels surprisingly familiar. But Absolute Wonder Woman #15 shows us that even when everything looks bleak, we can find strength in others. The writers, Thompson and Sherman, could have just given us a straightforward hero team-up. Instead, they created a comic that also highlights how powerful working together can be. If hope can exist even in a place as dark as the Absolute Universe, it suggests there’s hope for all of us.
