Travis Kelce Reveals Deliciously Sweet Gift for Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce is rolling in love—and Taylor Swift’s homemade dough.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce recently shared that he gifted his fiancée something related to her favorite food for Christmas.

During the December 23rd episode of their podcast, New Heights, Travis Kelce, 35, shared that one of his favorite gifts for Taylor Swift was a bread slicer. He explained she’s been making a lot of sourdough bread lately, adding with a laugh, “I’ve got the best gut health there is. I love you, Tay.”

The singer known for the song The Life of a Showgirl—and also admired for her baking—has been dedicating her time to mastering sourdough bread recipes.

I go through phases with baking, and right now I’m completely focused on sourdough – it’s become a big part of my life! I’ve been making blueberry lemon, cinnamon swirl, and cinnamon raisin loaves,” she shared on the New Heights podcast in August.

Okay, so it’s not just Travis she’s baking for! I nearly lost it when I heard she’s learning to make a special bread just for Jason and Kylie Kelce’s adorable kids – Wyatt, who’s five, Elliotte, four, little Bennett who’s two, and baby Finnley, only four months old! Seriously, is she even real? A baking queen for the whole family? I’m obsessed!

I’ve been experimenting with rainbow-themed baking for my daughters – lately, it’s been Funfetti sourdough! They’re obsessed with sprinkles, and we add them to pretty much everything when we spend time together.

Taylor shared that she’s constantly baking bread and asking her friends for their opinions. She’ll text them asking if they’d like some and for feedback on whether a new loaf is better than the last, explaining she experiments with the rising process. She’s discovered a whole online community of sourdough baking enthusiasts, which she didn’t even know existed.

Besides enjoying Taylor’s homemade sourdough, Travis shared that he and Taylor have never had a fight in their two years together. This surprised Kylie, who was curious to know how they handle disagreements without arguing.

During the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, Jason Kelce, age 33, playfully questioned Travis, saying, “You were kidding when you said you don’t fight, right?” He added that Travis’s laugh afterward made it sound like he was being sarcastic.

Travis initially tried to avoid answering directly, but then stated clearly, “Tay and I never fight.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship started in July 2023 when Swift’s Eras Tour visited Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Being a big Taylor Swift fan, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end wanted to give her a friendship bracelet with his jersey number on it while at her concert. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to reach her because she was busy preparing for the show.

Travis explained on his podcast, New Heights, that he was a bit upset Taylor Swift didn’t speak to fans before or after her concerts. He understood she needed to protect her voice for the 44 songs she performs, but he was hoping to give her one of the friendship bracelets he’d made.

I was so impressed when Travis openly talked about dropping that pass – he even called it “metal as hell” later on, which I thought was amazing! It showed he wasn’t afraid to laugh at himself. Then, he just went for it and invited Taylor to a Chiefs game at Arrowhead. It was such a bold move, and honestly, I was rooting for him the whole time!

He explained on The Pat McAfee Show that he challenged Taylor Swift, saying he’d noticed her amazing performances at Arrowhead Stadium and suggested she come see him perform there too, to see who gets a better reaction from the crowd. He said we’ll have to wait and see if she takes him up on it.

Travis had grown a mustache, first showing it off in August during football training camp, when he met Taylor for the first time.

He later recalled that his mustache and number 87 jersey were a memorable look during that time, and he was sporting them when he first met Taylor.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Travis and Taylor began communicating via text and phone calls around the beginning of September, as reported by TopMob News.

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

Taylor accepted Travis’ invitation and went to Arrowhead Stadium to see him and the Kansas City Chiefs play the Chicago Bears, where she sat with his mother, Donna Kelce. After the game, Taylor and Travis were photographed showing affection for each other at a nearby bar.

Despite stories claiming it was their first time meeting face-to-face, the singer of “Karma” explained that they had actually known each other for quite a while before that.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.” 

To show how serious things were getting, Taylor brought a group of her friends—including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Antoni Porowski—to see the Chiefs play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Taylor Swift seems to be getting close to Brittany Mahomes, wife of Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes, both at and away from NFL games. This could be another hint that Taylor and Travis are a couple!

Oh my gosh, you guys, they were everywhere in New York! I nearly lost it when I found out they did a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 14th! It was the most amazing thing ever! And it didn’t stop there – they went to the after-party and had a super cute date night at the Waverly Inn. Seriously, are they trying to kill me with all this perfection?! I’m obsessed!

During the team’s break, Travis flew to Argentina to see Taylor Swift perform on her Eras Tour. At the November 11th concert in Buenos Aires, he connected with Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and Taylor even gave him a special mention from the stage.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Following the performance, Taylor Swift reportedly rushed backstage and excitedly kissed Travis Kelce.

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

She told Time magazine that being able to support him doing what he enjoys is important, and they’re prioritizing being there for each other, regardless of what others think. She contrasted this with the effort some people take to keep relationships secret.

 

The famous singer made Travis’ game on December 17th a family event, bringing her father along to support her boyfriend.

Taylor and Travis rang in the New Year together, and shared a kiss at midnight on January 1st.

Taylor continued getting to know Travis’ family, spending time with his brother Jason Kelce and sister-in-law Kylie Kelce while watching the Chiefs play the Buffalo Bills.

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and earned a place in the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor joined Travis on the field to celebrate. They shared a kiss and told each other ‘I love you’ for the first time.

“Tay, I’m gonna enjoy with the guys,” he told her. “I love you—so much it’s not funny.”

On February 12th, Taylor shared a video of Travis online, playfully showing how she brought her parents to a club with him after the Super Bowl.

During the nearly two-hour conversation, she openly shared details about her life with Travis, both publicly and privately. She also announced the title of her upcoming twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which will be released on October 3rd.

Over two years after Travis mentioned Taylor on his podcast, sparking widespread excitement, the couple announced their engagement. They playfully referenced Taylor’s song “So High School” in an August 26th Instagram post sharing their engagement photos, captioning it, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
