EastEnders airs reunion for ‘Witches of Walford’, shock arrest, and Cindy & Max hook-up for Christmas 2025

This year’s Christmas Day episode of EastEnders delivered more than just festive food for thought – it was full of drama!

A heartwarming but bittersweet reunion brought three women from Walford back to a location with a tragic past. Meanwhile, one resident made a selfless act, and a surprising connection formed between two people who normally clash.

Anthony Trueman was found dead at the top of the stairs in The Queen Vic, very close to where Zoe Slater was lying unconscious.

Zoe and Anthony fought, but even after Zoe fell, Anthony wasn’t seriously hurt. We still don’t know who killed him.

Zoe and her mum, Kat Moon, were trying to figure out what to do next when they heard Elton John music playing from downstairs. It wasn’t a surprise concert, though – Chrissie Watts, who had recently returned, had simply put a song on the jukebox.

After twenty years, a mother and daughter were shocked to see her—and even more surprised to find she wasn’t alone. It turned out the woman was accompanied by Zoe’s daughter, Jasmine (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness), who everyone believed had passed away, and Jasmine finally confirmed who she was.

Zoe was shocked, especially when Chrissie revealed she’d met Jasmine months earlier and had been planning revenge for Jasmine leaving her children at the hospital.

Kat tried to explain to Jasmine that if they’d known about Zoe, they would have been just as keen to meet her. However, Jasmine wasn’t interested and instead moved closer to Chrissie.

Just when things were heating up, Sam Mitchell arrived at the pub and revealed Chrissie’s true nature. She brought up the past, reminding everyone about the time she and Zoe were suspected in the death of Chrissie’s husband, Den, even though Sam was actually the one who fatally injured him.

Jasmine was torn about who to trust. Even if she wanted to reconnect with her mother, the past few months had been so difficult that it felt impossible. Plus, she definitely couldn’t rely on Chrissie.

Things were heating up between Max Branning and Cindy Beale on Turpin Road.

After getting into a fight with his brother Jack, he was asked to leave the Beale family home. Feeling down, he went to The Prince Albert pub for another drink.

Cindy was deeply upset, having been kept away from everything to prevent her from seeing Max. Sitting by herself, she saw him knocking at the door.

They shared a playful, flirty exchange, and she eventually let him inside for a glass of wine, completely oblivious to the fact that he was the man responsible for her son Steven’s death years ago.

She quickly brought up the fact that Santa hadn’t visited yet – a potentially awkward moment! Luckily, Max offered to take care of it.

Lost in their passionate hug, they didn’t see the police cars rushing toward The Vic…

Even though Kat begged her to handle it, Zoe decided to confess to Anthony’s murder. She wanted Jasmine to see she’d take responsibility, even though it was obvious she hadn’t actually killed him.

Is Zoe about to be sent down for a murder she didn’t commit?
