As a long-time admirer of the fabulous and unapologetically outrageous duo, Edina and Patsy, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming Absolutely Fabulous: Inside Out! With eight years having passed since we last saw our beloved characters, this documentary is sure to be a much-needed dose of campy, British humor that I’ve sorely missed.
The “Absolutely Fabulous” retrospective documentary will soon be airing on your television screens, so don’t delay in tuning in!
Gold has confirmed that it will air the one-off special on Thursday 17th October at 9pm.
The announcement about the documentary came in June, revealing that the cast from the series will reunite after an eight-year hiatus, to reminisce and revisit the legendary comedy.
Absolutely Fabulous: A Look Behind the Scenes offers an exciting journey back in time, featuring Jennifer Saunders as Edina ‘Eddie’ Monsoon, Dame Joanna Lumley as Patsy Stone, Julia Sawalha as Saffron ‘Saffy’ Monsoon, and Jane Horrocks as Bubble. They will guide us through a nostalgic trip.
For a select audience, the behind-the-scenes creation process of the show will be unveiled along with the stars, who will also honor the memory of the late June Whitfield and acknowledge the significant impact it has had on modern female humor.
As a cinephile enthusiastically diving into the world of “Absolutely Fabulous,” I’m thrilled to reveal that this documentary doesn’t just stop at recounting the series’ history, but also offers exclusive insights through interviews with costume designers who originally graced our screens with their creations. Moreover, it boasts a star-studded lineup of cameos from famous faces who were captivated by the show, sharing delightful anecdotes and unveiling fascinating behind-the-scenes secrets.
