But honestly, seeing Karen – completely unprepared, no special abilities, and a little tipsy, no less – fight that monster to protect her daughter was genuinely powerful. Audiences are really connecting with that moment, and I have to say, I was impressed.

Nakaya Onsen has been an animator on the anime since its beginning and even designed a cursed spirit for the prequel movie. He was also a key animator for Season 2, Episode 16, which is known for its incredible visuals and excitement. Although his manga, Phenomenon X: Paranormal Crime Files, isn’t widely known internationally, the anime creator, Akutami, recommended it to their fans.
