This funny 2004 sports comedy, directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, features Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller as rival gym owners who battle it out in a high-stakes dodgeball tournament. The cast also includes Christine Taylor, Gary Cole, Rip Torn, Missi Pyle, Alan Tudyk, and Justin Long. It began streaming in October, but it will be leaving Netflix on January 2nd.

Despite the huge success and cultural impact of the movie Dodgeball, a sequel hasn’t been made… until now. News broke in 2023, two decades after the original film’s release, that Dodgeball 2 was in the early stages of development at 20th Century Studios, with Ben Vaughn expected to return. While details have been limited over the past two years, Vaughn recently told The Hollywood Reporter that they have a promising idea, though nothing is confirmed. No director has been announced yet.

Okay, fellow movie lovers, heads up! If you’re like me and enjoy a good laugh with Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, you’ve got less than a week to watch it on Netflix. It’s leaving the platform on January 2nd! I’ve been checking around, and it doesn’t look like any other major streaming services are picking it up anytime soon. Right now, Netflix is the only place to stream it. So, after it disappears from Netflix, we’ll have to dust off those old DVDs, or rent or buy it digitally if we want to relive Peter La Fleur’s underdog story.
