2025 was a huge year for Marvel and DC Comics. After avoiding collaborations for over twenty years, the two comic giants started a new chapter by teaming up their iconic characters. They announced two special issues featuring both Batman and Deadpool in some wild adventures. But the fun didn’t stop there – these issues were packed with even more team-ups between other heroes from both universes.
It was really enjoyable to see characters like Deadpool playfully bother Batman. Equally fun was watching magical conversations between Constantine and Doctor Strange, or seeing Green Arrow team up with Daredevil in a story that clearly understood both heroes. This year brought a surprising number of team-ups between Marvel and DC characters, and thankfully, the two publishers are planning even more for 2026, featuring Spider-Man and Superman. But first, let’s look back at 5 of the best Marvel/DC crossovers from 2025.
5. John Constantine and Doctor Strange

A creative team including Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV, Joshua Williamson, and artist Hayden Sherman teamed up for a crossover event featuring Hellblazer and Doctor Strange. The story perfectly embodies the personalities of both Strange and Constantine, and feels substantial enough to stand on its own. The writing and artwork are excellent and will appeal to fans of magic in either universe. However, it would have been great to see more of the hinted-at battle between Swamp Thing and Ghost Rider.
4. Logo

While not a typical team-up, the return of the Amalgam Universe definitely deserves attention! The story by Ryan North and Ryan Stegman was unexpected, marking the first new adventure in the combined Marvel/DC world in almost thirty years. It hits the ground running, immediately introducing Logo – a fantastic and fierce combination of Wolverine and Lobo – as a standout character. Let’s hope Marvel and DC explore this character further, because he’s a truly brilliant creation that shouldn’t be a one-time thing.
3. Green Arrow and Daredevil

Kevin Smith, a longtime fan of both Daredevil and Green Arrow, recently wrote their first-ever team-up story with artist Adam Kubert. When Daredevil’s enemies, the Hand, and Green Arrow’s foe, Count Vertigo, launch a chaotic attack, Matt Murdock and Oliver Queen find they make a great team. The story is simply a fun, classic superhero adventure, giving both heroes moments to excel and showing they’re in the hands of a writer who clearly appreciates them.
2. Thor and Shazam

The team-up between Thor and Shazam wasn’t part of the Deadpool and Batman one-shots. Instead, it was released about a week beforehand as a way to generate excitement for the main event. However, Al Ewing and Jethro Morales did a fantastic job with this unexpected pairing, blending the characters’ mythologies in a way that feels like a classic, lighthearted Silver Age comic. I was surprised to find this comic on Marvel Unlimited, but I enjoyed every moment of it!
1. Batman and Deadpool (DC’s)

Both the Batman and Deadpool one-shot specials were enjoyable, but the main Batman/Deadpool series by Grant Morrison and Dan Mora was truly exceptional – one of the best comics I’ve read this year. The story traps Batman and Deadpool in a mind-bending reality controlled by Cassandra Nova, leading to hilarious and inventive fourth-wall breaks that will make even cynical readers laugh. Releasing this story in November was a smart move, as it was a fantastic way for Marvel and DC to finish the year strong.
