I’ve been following Solo Leveling closely, and it’s been months since the second season ended with no news about a continuation. The story left off with the exciting conclusion of the Jeju Island Arc, and I was eager to see Jinwoo’s journey continue as he investigates the secrets of their world. There was some buzz in November about a possible movie, sparked by a post on X, but the studio hasn’t confirmed anything, so it’s hard to know if that’s accurate. It seems like Season 3 hasn’t been officially greenlit yet, which probably means we’ll be waiting a while longer to see what happens next. The first season was a big success, but Season 2 absolutely blew up, even setting new streaming records on Crunchyroll – it was incredibly popular!
After a long wait for new content, the battle between Jinwoo and the Ant King became the most popular anime fight on Crunchyroll’s official YouTube channel this year. The nearly ten-minute video, released in March 2025 and taken from Episode 12, has already earned over 30 million views and 20,000 comments, proving how much fans love the series. Viewers are repeatedly watching the clip because it shows the entire, action-packed fight without any cuts, making it one of the best animated battles in recent memory.
Why Is Jinwoo vs. Ant King in Solo Leveling So Popular?

Fans are calling the battle one of the best in recent anime history, thanks to its incredible animation and expertly designed fight scenes, which really boosted the story. Beru proved to be Jinwoo’s toughest opponent yet, and the fight lived up to the hype with a fantastic performance. The fourth Jeju Island Raid started after extensive planning and research, aiming for a Hunter victory with as few injuries as possible, but no one expected the Ant King to show up.
This monster was unlike anything the Hunters had faced before, threatening the entire world. Jinwoo hadn’t intended to participate in the raid, but he stepped up when no one else could. He not only defeated the incredibly powerful Ant King, but also dispatched his army to handle the remaining monsters. This event was a turning point, revealing the extraordinary abilities of Korea’s rising S-Rank Hunter to the world.
I was really surprised when Jinwoo managed to turn the Ant King into one of his shadows – he even gave him the name Beru! It looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more of Beru in the next season, and apparently he’s going to be a huge help to Jinwoo, maybe even stronger than Igris. If you want to check out both seasons of the anime, they’re available on Crunchyroll. Or, if you prefer to read the story, you can find the webtoon and light novel on Tapas.
