I’ve been a huge fan of Science SARU ever since I discovered them! This animation studio, founded back in 2013, has consistently put out incredibly creative and visually stunning anime. They didn’t initially focus on adapting super popular manga, instead quietly building a reputation for original stories that were just as compelling as anything from the bigger studios. But it wasn’t until 2024, when Dandadan really took off, that they started getting the global recognition they deserve. Dandadan Season 2 just came out this year, and I’m already counting down the days until 2027 for Season 3! Honestly, Dandadan has some of the best animation I’ve ever seen in a Shonen Jump series, and I have no doubt the third season will be phenomenal.
Although Dandadan is the studio’s biggest hit so far, they’ve also gained a reputation for consistently delivering stunning animation. They’re known for giving each new series a unique art style, helping them stand out in the anime world. Their next project, Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia, had its first teaser, key visual, and planned release timeframe revealed on December 27th, 2025. Fans can expect it to premiere in July 2026 as part of the summer season, with a specific release date still to come.
What Is The Plot of Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia?

The story takes place in the 13th-century Mongol Empire, the largest empire in history, ruled by Genghis Khan. A young girl named Sitara is lost and separated from her mother, forced to leave her home. Unable to care for herself, she ends up in the slave market until a family of scholars rescues her and provides her with an education.
The Mongol Empire, led by the powerful Genghis Khan, was constantly conquering new lands and growing stronger. When this expansion reached Sitara’s town, her quiet life was shattered, and her fate took an unexpected turn.
Details about the characters and actors in the new anime series haven’t been released yet, but the production team has been announced. Naoko Yamada, known for directing the popular film A Silent Voice, will oversee the series as general director, with Abel Gongora directing the episodes. Kenichi Yoshida, a former Studio Ghibli artist, is responsible for the character designs. While a streaming service hasn’t been confirmed, the anime will air on TV Asahi and its network in Japan.
Details about where you can watch the anime will be announced just before it starts airing. The anime is adapted from a manga called Tenmaku no Jaadugar by Tomato Soup. It’s published digitally in Japan by Akita Shoten in their Souffle magazine, and currently has five volumes available. If you’re looking to read it in English, Yen Press is releasing it as A Witch’s Life in Mongol.
